WEDDING WALLET Written by Shamika Booker

He asked, and you said yes. So, what happens next? First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!

Step

One

is

determining

your

budget.

I

am

going

to

show

you

ideally

how

funds

should

be

distributed for your wedding budget. Then, we will discuss helpful ways to save money.

I’m going to illustrate this with an overall budget of $25,000.

Some couples may opt to not include attire in the overall budget. Depending on the size of the wedding party, the groom may be able to attain a free tuxedo rental. This would free up almost $2,000 in the budget. Flowers are another place where money can be saved. Centerpieces can be either candles, feathers, pictures, or really anything that goes with your theme. The wedding party has the option of carrying down the aisle a single flower, faux flowers, or again, something that ties into your theme. Once you find a way to cut down costs in one area, you can re-allocate that amount or a portion of that amount to another area. Don’t be afraid to utilize professionals with whom you are acquainted, if they offer quality service.

This is just a starting point to budgeting for your wedding. I recommend hiring a wedding consultant to learn more ways to save money.

BRIDAL ACCESSORIES Written by: Malinda Bell IG: @yumdivayum Once your wedding gown is chosen, it’s time to accessorize your beautiful bridal attire! Recently, accessories beyond the traditional realm of gloves, capes, veils, and tiaras have grown in popularity. Brides can now solidify their signature style with fun themes, distinguished color palettes, and personal inspirations. Popular accessory themes range from natural, glam, bling, rustic, floral, and edgy rock n’ roll "goth" looks. Whether you make your entrance with majestic grandeur or with simple sophistication, accessories are a way for a bride to truly personalize the experience of their special day. Accessories become an extension of the bride and groom's love story and also completes the look of her dream ceremony. Shoes, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, undergarments, gloves, veils, and crystal headpieces are items to consider for that perfect look.

Here are some inspirational ideas on accessories to get your creative juices bubbling!
