We were very proud to win the AITO All-Stars Most Improved Agents in 2011 and we were also nominated in two categories in the 2012 National Agent Acheivement Awards, Best High St Agent and Best Small Agency, Central England. If you are in the Oxfordshire area, be sure to listen out for me on BBC Radio Oxford. My next show is on the 15th May at 1pm. As this magazine hits your doorstep, Spring will have sprung in earnest and an early break to mainland Europe could be a welcome surprise. Get groovy with a stay at a trendy “W” hotel (they are sprouting up all over the place) or perhaps be one of the first to discover the charms of the Monastero Santa Rosa on the spectacular Amalfi coastline when it opens in May. We are delighted to showcase the recently opened Vivanta by Taj - Bekal resort in the far north of the Southern India State of Kerala. The area is being described as similar to Goa before the charter airlines arrived - a real “off the beaten track” tropical beach paradise. There are many ways to travel, but if you want to be looked after in style, discovering the wonders of the world in the company of like-minded travellers, then the “champagne” of escorted tour companies has to be Tauck. We are pleased to feature one of the dynamic tours from their 2012 “Exotics” programme, a destination where the world is evolving at a staggering pace in a landscape of striking contrasts and fascinating history - China.

Monastero Santa Rosa, Amalfi Coast erched above the shimmering waters of the Mediterranean, a dramatic transformation has been carried out over 10 years on a former monastery to create a stunning boutique hotel with spa on the ruggedly beautiful Amalfi coastline.
P
The hotel offers exclusive accommodation with just 20 rooms and suites. It is situated along the famed Blue Highway near the quaint fishing village of Conca dei Marini and is close to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. It is built directly into the side of the cliff affording spectacular, panoramic views of the coastline and sea as well as the hotel’s beautiful terraced gardens. Given its heritage, the building has been respectfully restored to honour its roots and traditions. Whilst the exterior and the interior maintain the asceticism of the property, the style within is offset by warm and inviting contemporary design. The grounds feature a heated infinity pool, stunning landscaped gardens, and a private herb garden, all situated over five terraced levels.
Cap Estel,
Côte D’Azur
ocated on the French Riviera between Nice and Monaco, Cap Estel is an exquisite refuge where guests can find peace and relaxation in an environment of total luxury. This is a seaside holiday for the sophisticated: a beautiful and exclusive property set on a private 5-acre peninsula bathed by the warm blue waters and hot sun of the Côte d’Azur.
L
With only four rooms and fourteen suites, the Cap Estel offers privacy and tranquillity in the most spectacular of settings. All rooms have sea views with either a balcony or terrace. Calm, verdant gardens lead the way to the infinity pool overlooking the sea. Dining at this very special hotel is an absolute pleasure. The chef Patrick Raingeard specialises in the flavours of the Mediterranean and creates wonderful dishes using local produce, not least super fresh vegetables from the hotel’s own gardens. Naturally, seafood features highly in the irresistible seasonal menu.
A stand-out feature of the hotel is its impressive Spa. There is a Thermal Suite which interconnects to a series of historic monastic spaces. This includes a stunning double height vaulted Tepidarium (warm relaxing room) with heated benches and whirlpool footbaths, a domed herbal Steam Room, a Crushed Ice Fountain to refresh between thermal baths, a wood Sauna, Hydrotherapy Pool and Experience Shower. 4

f there is a single word more alluring than Italy, then it must be its own heart and soul‌ Tuscany. W Barcelona The epitome of the energy and buzz of a great city W Barcelona is an architectural masterpiece. Rising like a sail from the Mediterranean sands of Barcelonetta, it is as much a work of modern art as it is a luxury hotel. Set in the stunning waterfront area of Spain's most dynamic and stylish city, W Barcelona rises proud from the beachfront, and offers unparalleled views of both the Mediterranean Sea and the City of Barcelona. Inspired by the artistry of the city itself, this hotel is a futuristic tour de force that is just as unique and design-forward as the W brand itself. It is a work of art that offers the modern comforts, and traditional luxuries, of a worldclass hotel in each of its signature rooms. And when not in the room, you won't have to go far to find the action. The vibrant W lounge and Eclipse rooftop bar are playgrounds for grown ups. Drinks range from traditional to eclectic and everything in between, as do the clientele, making people-watching a consuming activity in itself.
Urban Chic Hotels that embrace a contemporary lifestyle
W Paris - Opéra Fashionista frills behind the formal facade
elcome to a distinctly fresh and younger approach to luxury hospitality, where the mood and decor of contemporised hotels (and newly built properties) perfectly compliments the buzzy, cosmopolitan energy of Europe’s happening cities. This is the “W” effect.
W
From the moment you enter a “W” hotel or resort worldwide the emphasis is upon striking innovation. You are not in a lobby or reception but rather a vibrant “living room” or “lounge”. This journey continues through sensory environments where amplified entertainment reflects a youthful exuberance expressed through cutting edge design.
8
Guest rooms and suites have intriguingly simple categories ranging from “Wonderful” to “Wow” whilst facilities attract equally evocative titles “Sweat” for the Fitness Centre, “Bliss” for the Spa and “Wet” for the pool (W Barcelona, W St Petersburg). It is therefore not difficult to acquaint yourself in the language of the “W” luxury lifestyle, perhaps whilst contemplating an innovative cocktail at “Sip” (W Istanbul). Such is the continuing popularity of the “W” brand worldwide that there are plans to open many more in the near future. In 2013 the W Milan and W Athens will open to join an existing European city portfolio in London, Paris, Barcelona, St Petersburg and Istanbul.
The newly opened W Paris - Opéra is a hotel that embraces the contemporary behind traditional facades. Relax in the glamourous surroundings of one of the 91 guestrooms and suites and delight in stylish accents, custom made furnishings and the signature W bed with plush pillow-top mattress and 350-thread count sheets and W's Whatever/Whenever service, or mix and mingle over cocktails with Paris insiders at the destination bar. Located in the Opéra area of Paris, in an elegant 1870’s Haussmann era building, W Paris - Opéra is situated between Paris' most famous department stores, Galeries Lafayette and Le Printemps with the exclusive boutiques of the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré nearby. If shopping is not enough, the landmark Garnier Opéra house, world class restaurants and museums are just a stroll away.

Spectacular Santorini The breathtaking Aegean isle, home of Vedema Resort & Mystique ooking from the clifftops across the caldera of Santorini offers one of the most dramatic and inspiring views in the Mediterranean. The evening sunsets are staggering whilst in the burning light of day the sharp contrast of the bright white Cycladic dwellings and blue cupolas of the churches hugging the cliffs are the quintessential images of this natural wonder shaped by a mighty cataclysm that literally blew the top off the island around 3000 BC.
L
Santorini has witnessed an extraordinary renaissance with stylish renovations of the classic cave houses as well as the creative construction of new, luxury boutique developments. Possibly the finest project is Vedema Resort, a remarkable walled community of 45 spacious villas including 10 pool suites which have been built around a beautiful 15th century winery. A member of The Luxury Collection, by Starwood Hotels
& Resorts, the property has elevated the fresh minimalism and “barefoot chic” of Santorini to its pinnacle to create a sophisticated hideaway resort. For a truly spectacular position then sister property, Mystique, is the place to stay. Located on the famous cliffs of the beautiful village of Oia, the resort comprises a collection of 22 suites and villas that cascade down the cliff face in a series of undulating terraces. The organic construction is a true homage to the local architecture and takes full advantage of the awe-inspiring views across the crescent caldera. The heart of this intimate resort lies around the outdoor infinity-edge pool, the “Aura” Bar, the “Charisma” Gourmet Restaurant and the “Secret” Wine Cave. Direct flights are available to Santorini (Thira Airport) from the UK and Athens.
Classic Athens It’s no myth at the Hotel Grande Bretagne, a Luxury Collection Hotel
taying at the Hotel Grande Bretagne is one of the great treats when visiting Athens. It is a building that is a historical landmark, which literally rubs shoulders with the city’s ancient and more modern day monuments. From the GB rooftop (gardens, pool and restaurant) there are unbroken views to the nearby citadel of the Acropolis and Parthenon, the very symbol of Athens.
S
However, this is not some museum piece; the Grande Bretagne is one of the world’s great hotels. It has kept with the times offering cutting-edge modern refinements and has undergone stylish refurbishments whilst retaining all the charms of its gracious architecture and period furnishing. Its restaurants offer the finest cuisine in town, the GB Spa is an intoxicating retreat and the staff are renowned for delivering an impeccable and friendly service.

White Sands and Warm Seas Straddling three perfect beaches the luxurious Constance Lémuria Resort offers the idyllic Seychelles sunshine destination resort
magine a setting of lush vegetation which has been untouched over the centuries. The legend goes that, when the continents of the world parted, a small piece of paradise survived, the Lémuria. I
Positioned by these amazing beaches and surrounded by its own (and the Seychelles ONLY) 18 hole championship golf course, Constance Lémuria Resort fulfils the promise of the fable and, by its modern day membership of Relais & Chateaux, confirms its status as a world class luxury resort. Meanwhile, sister resort, Constance Belle Mare Plage, remains a popular choice in Mauritius, offering excellent facilities including two complimentary 18 hole championship golf courses. For the definitive “barefoot” experience head to the remote islands of the Maldives to one of two private island resorts, Constance Moofushi Resort and Constance Halaveli Resort.
