Shop Small

Consumers have many choices, but, the best way to support the local economy is to support small businesses. Spend your money locally with your friends at small businesses rather than somewhere else.

This year, the North Orange County Chamber will continue the national tradition of shopping on Small Business Saturday – the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 25. By encouraging individuals to patronize local businesses and share experiences with us on Instagram and Facebook you can help local businesses grow and keep dollars local in the community.

In fact, keeping tax dollars in the community helps fund infrastructure projects and contributes to public safety and schools, which overall strengthens the community. Last year, 95 million Americans shopped on Small Business Saturday–imagine how that impacts our own business community!

Tell your friends to do the same, perhaps making a point of organizing a shopping day where you only visit small, local enterprises instead of chain stores.

PARTICIPATING IS SIMPLE:

1. Snap a picture while shopping at a locally owned store or restaurant.

2. Post the picture to your Instagram or Facebook account with the hashtag #ShopNOC.

3. Businesses can register online:www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/shop-small
