Lina Bo Bardi dibuixa From 15 February to 26 May Curated by Zeuler Rocha Lima Follow this exhibition on social media: #BoBardiDrawing
This exhibition is about the profound sense of connection that the Italian-born Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi (1914-1992) had with drawing. More than the tool of a designer, to her, drawing was a primary expressive means driven by a strong sense of curiosity and doubt. She never claimed drawing to be an independent artistic language, but she embraced it with artistic purpose. Drawing to her was both a noun and a verb, outcome and process, object and relationship. Over the span of her life, Bo Bardi collected more than 6,000 of her drawings and graphic notes in her personal archives in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil. This volume sheds light on a small but carefully organized selection of 100 of those images, illustrating the wide and rich range of her thinking and her production. Those drawings will be supported by images of her built work and of her activities as an exhibition designer. 4

The Fundació Joan Miró is a remarkable space created by Joan Miró himself with the idea of making art accessible to all. The collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures and works on paper displayed at the Fundació is one of the most comprehensive selections of Miró’s oeuvre, offering a thorough overview of all the stages of his life and career. A variety of spaces allow visitors to venture into an interdisciplinary exploration of the highly personal language and production of one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. A series of overarching themes illustrate key concepts in Miró’s work and in the thinking of his times, while reflecting the artist’s desire to transcend conventional painting. The paintings related to Surrealism and the works based on the Spanish Civil War are particularly noteworthy due to their artistic and poetic significance. Other important pieces include the large canvases Miró produced from the late seventies onwards, which are characterised by large fields of colour and free gesture. The Fundació also devotes a wing to the Kazumasa Katsuta collection, which allows visitors to explore a dialogue between East and West, highlighting the universality of Joan Miró’s work. Restoration of the Tapestry of the Fundació From March to May 2019, visitors to the Fundació will have a chance to witness the restoration of the Tapestry, one of the iconic works in the permanent collection. This exceptional venture held by the Conservation Department with support from the Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona will make it possible to fulfil one of Miró's wishes: to have the piece on temporary display as a three-dimensional object, inviting visitors to walk around it and experience its material dimension. 12

Lee Miller and Surrealism in Britain Curated by Eleanor Clayton Follow this exhibition online: #FJMLeeMiller Organised by The Hepworth Wakefield in collaboration with the Fundació Joan Miró
Lee Miller and Surrealism in Britain is the first exhibition to examine the role of the American photographer Lee Miller (1907-77) in the development of the British surrealist movement. The show gathers close to two hundred pieces, including photographs, drawings, paintings and sculptures, creating a dialogue between an extensive representation of Miller’s photographic work and pieces by some of the most prominent artists in the international surrealist circle, such as Man Ray, Max Ernst, Leonora Carrington, Yves Tanguy, Henry Moore, Eileen Agar, Roland Penrose, Paul Nash, Salvador Dalí, Giorgio de Chirico and Joan Miró.

Panel Discussion: "Fashion and Gender" After working as a model for Vogue magazine during the 1920s, Lee Miller embarked on a professional career as a fashion photographer and as an artist linked with the Surrealist movement. The discussion with Patrícia Soley-Beltran, Leticia García and Charo Mora will consider fashion as a sociological barometer and as a reflection of-or a possible means of raising awareness about-matters of gender.

Look to Learn How to Live Esperanza Urdeix
Gomis Gaudí Joaquim Gomis
Esperanza Urdeix is an Alexander Technique teacher who applies her practice to photography. According to this technique, we have to give ourselves time to make decisions. For Urdeix, observing the objects in her everyday life allows her to stop and gain awareness of how she herself feels during a convalescence.
Jointly with Joan Miró, Joaquim Gomis was one of the leading advocates of Antoni Gaudí's work and legacy. Gomis was one of the founders of the Amics de Gaudí (Friends of Gaudí) association, of which he was appointed president in 1952, at a time when modern architecture was at its peak. He also published several books with his photographs of the architect's most representative works.

Espai 13 A Monster Who Tells the Truth Series curated by Pilar Cruz Follow this exhibition series online: #monstreEspai13
Our knowledge and understanding of every aspect of existence have gradually evolved over the course of history. According to the philosopher Michel Foucault, one of the ways of controlling this knowledge is to divide it into disciplines, veritable structures of power that establish the limits of truth at any given moment in time. The artists featured in this series question and push at the boundaries between disciplines in order to reflect on the dynamics of power that affect knowledge. Thus, art is presented as a powerful monster capable of pointing to the weak points in these boundaries: a monster who tells the truth or, at the very least, who points to the person telling it.

From 18 January to 24 March Memory in Our Hands Vanesa Varela Vanesa Varela uses the backstrap loom, a pre-industrial tool, as the basis for a reflection on production methods, the concept of work and the generation or transfer of knowledge. This age-old technique connects the weaver's body with nature, bringing textile production down to a human scale. Refuting industrial production methods, here the body is the one imposing its form and movement upon the fabric, in opposition to an alienating, devastating production system.
In turn, the project provides a reflection on how the body's inherited memory and movements connect us with a different way of being in the world, reassessing the things we truly value.

From 5 April to 24 June Trapalladas, espantallos, farandulos Für Alle Fälle The Für Alle Fälle collective (Vanesa Castro and Iñaki López) presents an array of off-the-grid practices in the context of rural Galicia. While the consolidated maker movement has become increasingly dependent on corporate high tech, Iñaki and Vanesa have found numerous examples of low-complexity, highly efficient solutions. Faced with specific needs, these non-makers find simple solutions that are often ingenious and effective, steeped in traditional knowledge and involving the most efficient possible use of local materials and resources, often

recycled or repurposed. The room features an installation of several scarecrow systems (espantallos) that the artists have tracked down, as well as video coverage of some of the ways in which a variety of odds and ends are transformed into usable devices (trapalladas).
Thursday, 4 April at 5 pm In this workshop, participants will make farandulos – the traditional figures used during carnival in rural areas of Galicia – prior to the exhibition opening. Free activity. Online reservations through the Fundació website.
Families Our programming for families includes a broad range of activities and experiences for people of all ages aimed at sparking individuals’ curiosity and encouraging their personal connections to art. The activities are grouped into three areas: experiences related to the Joan Miró collection that stimulate creativity beyond contemplation; interdisciplinary activities based on temporary exhibitions and the Espai 13 exhibition programme, which provide a broad interpretation of reality as presented by the museum; and, last of all, other explorations regarding the Fundació and its context, the paths that lead there, the landscape, the neighbourhood and Montjuïc, viewed metaphorically as a magic mountain that opens up new paths to learning.
