TURTLE MADE OF PLASTIC BOTTLES

A sponge cloth.

A marker pen.

A utility knife.

Scissors.

A needle.

o

A thread.

o

A button.

o

A plastic bottle.

Degree of difficulty Medium, appropriate for the children of any age, but adult help may be needed when working with a needle. Approximate time required 50 minutes.

Step-by-step instructions 1. Cut the bottom part of a bottle with the help of a utility knife or scissors and put it on a sponge cloth. Draw the circle with the help of bottle bottom, but be aware than a circle must be a little bigger than the radius of the circle inside the bottle.

2. Add a head, legs and a tail. Cut off the turtle form the sponge cloth.

3. Fasten the bottom of the plastic bottle to the body of the turtle with the help of a needle and a thread.

4. Make an opening for the coins from the bottom side of the turtle: using the utility knife, make a little incision wide enough to pass coins through.

5. Sew a button to the top of the turtle. This will pull the thread even more. Draw the eyes, a mouth and a tail.

You can put inside your turtle not only coins but also another stuff: colored stones, beads, seashells or leave the turtle empty. You can also pain the bottom of a bottle beforehand and receive in the end not transparent but colorful animal. The shape of the plastic bottle bottom is more or less standard but perfect for turtle but the appearance can differ greatly depending on your imagination.
