“My family is my driving force. They have taught me spiritually, academically, and even more life lessons. Although I do not have the advantage of generational wealth and notoriety that many other Americans enjoy, I have the intelligence and drive that my parents have passed on to me. My goal in life is to explore all cultures and aspects of life, while working towards becoming an entrepreneur. I also want to become an example for Mexican American girls that will go through the same struggles that I have. I want to show them that nothing is out of their reach simply because of their background or origin.
I have a close relationship with my family, and I have seen all the struggles they have suffered through in order to provide for me. As undocumented immigrants, it was especially hard for them to go through life in America all while trying to accomplish their goals. All they ever wanted was to provide opportunities for me to be successful and go much farther than they ever could. Today I want to show them that their efforts for not in vain.”
