During February 2021 we conducted a survey of our members. We were pleased to receive a response from at least half of our Members and the feedback we received about the Irish Association of Funeral Directors was very positive. The key findings of this survey will be used to drive change across the Association.

Hi All,
I hope everyone is still surviving through this pandemic and looking forward to the brighter days ahead, with the restrictions starting to ease and finally getting to see our family and friends again. This is such an important time for us all to tread carefully and not lose focus on the importance of treating every case as an infectious case as people may start to relax with numbers decreasing.
I know I mentioned our last meeting in the last chairpersons letter but I don’t think I gave it enough credit! Mr. Gordon Findlater gave an amazing and intriguing presentation for our members with an added extra at the end with “useless but interesting anatomy facts”. I think it is safe to say everyone who attended really enjoyed it. A huge thanks again to Gordon for making the time out of his busy schedule and to our members who attended. Our next meeting is on the 25th July via Zoom and we have another exciting guest speaker lined up which I think everyone will enjoy. So once again I would really encourage all our members to attend as I can guarantee you won’t regret it!
On a final note, we will hopefully have a face to face meeting soon but at the minute we need things to get a little better so for now it’s Zoom but we will stay positive and enjoy our meetings from the comfort of our homes. Stay safe everyone.

Take on the mighty Slieve Donard Challenge, climb the highest peak in the Mournes and raise vital funds for TinyLife, the premature baby charity for Northern Ireland.

Despite several postponements last year we are delighted to announce a new date for our Slieve Donard Challenge, it will now take place on SUNDAY 8th August 2021. Places will be held for those who had previously registered and we have opened up the event for new registrations, please visit https://www.tickettailor.com/ events/tinylife
Slieve Donard is the highest peak in the Mournes (some 850 metres). It offers some fantastic views in reward for walking to the summit. Gaze south over the Carlingford Mountains and beyond Dundalk Bay towards the Wicklow Mountains on the southern horizon. The Isle of Man and a glimpse of Scotland can be seen eastwards with Belfast City easily visible to the north.
This guided challenge will be led by expert mountain leaders ‘Life Adventure’.
Registration is £20 and each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £60 sponsorship.
The challenge will take approx 5 hours to complete.
Participants must be 12 years + (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult).
