Miss Pinks Florist, owned by Claire Dockar, has been serving its customers for the past five years since she bought it and the florist shop itself has been a staple in the community for 30 years. With a dedicated staff of five - Claire, daughter-in-law Hannah, Vicky, Connor and their super delivery driver Tony - Miss Pinks Florist offers a wide range of floral arrangements for all occasions.

Situated just off the Ridgeway car park, the shop has seen many changes in the local area and has been extensively renovated over the last five years. It is truly a community space, where customers and locals come in to order or just to have a chat.
Claire says “the sense of community is palpable on the Ridgeway and we appreciate that as part of that community, we are not here just to sell flowerswe listen, share stories and experiences, laugh and commiserate and tentatively offer advice. Most of all, we are here to help out whenever we can.”
Claire has enjoyed very successful careers in business and education and was presented with an Honorary Degree by the Late Prince Philip, as Chair of the Chartered College of Teaching, for services to education. She decided to take a break following the deaths of her father and father-in-law and fate played a part in her now owning Miss Pinks.
“I designed and made the floral tributes for my fatherin-law and was asked by the funeral directors which florist had created them. My husband told them it was me, but that I wasn’t a florist. They said that if I ever fancied a change of career, they would be really interested! I was at a point where I felt I had given my all to education services, and would love to give my creative side some free rein, so we googled florists for sale in Plymouth … and here we are!”
Claire feels very lucky to have some amazing local growers to supply some of her flowers and she also strives to become more environmentally friendly. Her delivery vans are electric and she drives an electric car. The shop uses kraft paper, raffia and bio-degradable wrappings, wherever possible, offering a huge range of floral gifts that are perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re looking for a birthday gift, a thank you present, or just something to brighten someone’s day, Miss Pinks Florist has got you covered. Their arrangements are always beautifully presented, and the team takes great care in ensuring that each one is tailored to the recipient’s tastes.
