Cosy cafe by day, stylish cocktail bar after dark

Olive & Twist was founded with the aim of bringing a city centre style bar to market towns. The business has been successful so far, and we are already looking for another site in nearby market towns to expand and open 3-4 more restaurants.

We take pride in employing all our staff locally, and our venue is a popular choice for many charities and community groups.

The journey to opening our first restaurant was not without challenges, including the need to re-wire and re-plumb the entire building, which resulted in costs spiralling to almost double our initial estimates. However, we have learned valuable lessons from these experiences, and we are looking for new commercial units or old restaurants fit for purpose for our next site.

To ensure success, we believe in listening to the local community and offering what they want to see, rather than imposing our own preferences. We also prioritize durability in our equipment and operations to weather difficult times.

We recently launched bottomless brunches and afternoon teas, which have been extremely popular. We are the only ones offering this in Plympton and Ivybridge, and we hope to continue offering new and exciting experiences to our customers.

We understand that running a business can be challenging, and we strive to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Our longer-term goal is to build a sellable asset in the next five years.
