After trekking through knee deep snow, it was nearing 4PM in the afternoon, when the light changed and we saw the world through rose coloured glasses. The colour was extraordinary.

I would say that this image is perhaps my luckiest. On this particular day I’d walked about 15km around the breathtaking Blue Mountains. After shooting a handful of waterfalls I finished up looking over this anonymous waterfall (no name). I set my camera to timer mode, taking an image every second and walked back for a ‘behind the scenes’ shot. When I looked back, this thoughtful cockatoo had landed to perfectly complete this very Australian landscape composition.
