The School That Changes Everything

At

Fusion Academy,

we reimagined

everything about school

From 30-1 classes to 1-to-1 learning. How we select teachers to match your student’s learning preferences. How we communicate with parents daily, not just at annual parent-teacher conferences. How homework doesn’t have to come home anymore.

But the biggest difference you’ll notice… is the way your child has changed.

Why 1-to-1 learning?

In Fusion’s 1-to-1 classrooms, your student receives their teacher’s total attention

We customize the curriculum and content to match their unique pace and preferences. Your student will learn better, dive deeper, and never get left behind.

1-to-1 learning means:

- No one-size-fits-all lessons

- No hiding in the back of the classroom

- No competing for the teacher’s attention

- No fear of asking questions

- No rushing through before they’re ready

- No distractions

You won’t just see a difference in their grades. You’ll see a difference in your child.

Why 1-to-1 education works

The challenges of learning in a traditional classroom

When a classroom has 30 students, the teacher must teach to the middle. They may try to give students individual attention, but finding time for that can be quite difficult. They’re forced to move on before every student comprehends a concept. Meanwhile, other kids may be restless waiting for the rest of the class to catch up.

Fusion’s 1-to-1 classrooms allow students to explore their academics more deeply than ever before.

Fusion’s educational philosophy: love, motivate, teach

Our educational philosophy is Love, Motivate, Teach. It’s sequential on purpose.

The proven power of personalized education

The power of 1-to-1 validated by academic researchers:

- 1-to-1 education is a proven, effective strategy for increasing student learning outcomes.

(Fryer & Howard-Noveck, 2020)

- Personalized learning enables students to gain essential skills or concepts from past years that were missed or not fully covered.

(Zhou, Molfino, & Travers, 2021)

- Instructional approaches using 1-to1 learning are particularly effective in supporting a wide range of learners, including students who have fallen behind academically.

(Nickow, Oreopoulos, & Quan, 2020; Robinson, Kraft, Loeb, & Schueler, 2021)

- 1-to-1 education during the school day leads to greater learning gains than afterschool or summer interventions.

(Nickow, Oreopoulos, & Quan, 2020)

- Personalized learning enables students to progress 2-3x times faster than their peers academically.

(Robinson, Kraft, Loeb, & Schueler, 2021)

If a student was dis-engaged in a traditional school setting, they must be re-engaged in their educational journey.

They must first feel psychologically safe in their new school setting (love). They must believe in the relevance and meaning of their curriculum (motivate). Only then can our instructors effectively begin to teach.

And we see it in our own learning data:

- Fusion Academy student achievement scores grow 33% more in a school year than their peers nationally.¹

- Fusion Academy student achievement scores in math grow 65% more in a school year than their peers nationally.¹

¹ Based on Fusion students’ year-over-year average MAP growth rate compared to the average MAP growth rate of their national grade-matched peer group.

Full-time, 1-to-1 learning

Personalized middle and high school

Fusion’s full-time program provides students in grades 6-12 with a truly individualized education experience. In our 1-to-1 classrooms, each student learns through personalized instruction tailored to their strengths, interests, and pace, ensuring they master each subject fully before moving forward. Plus, our flexible scheduling means the school day adapts to fit your student’s needs, whether that includes athletic commitments, creative pursuits, or health considerations.

Customized academic support options

Whether they’re looking to catch up, get ahead, or explore new subjects, students can access classes tailored to their learning preferences, interests, and academic goals.

Tutoring & mentoring

Many students come to Fusion seeking support in specific subjects. Our teachers provide 1-to-1 tutoring that can focus on your student’s current curriculum or general skillbuilding to prepare them for the next course or grade level. Tutoring sessions are customized to meet each student’s unique needs and learning preferences, ensuring deeper understanding and greater confidence.

All Fusion programming is available during the summer months, providing a great opportunity for students to catch up, get ahead, or explore new interests before the upcoming school year.

A school that fits your life

Flexible scheduling for every family

Who decided school had to be from 8-3? That schedule doesn’t work for every student (or their family)! That’s why at Fusion, we design the school day around each student’s unique needs, giving them the flexibility to pursue their passions, manage health needs, or simply learn at their best time of day.

Real life examples of our flexible scheduling

Charlie the early bird

Charlie loves his mornings and starts class at 7:30 a.m., wrapping up by 12:30 p.m. so he has the afternoon free for a part-time job he enjoys.

Gina the soccer star

Gina’s club sports schedule is intense, with frequent practices and travel. Her Fusion schedule adapts to her, allowing her to attend classes around practice times and join virtually while traveling.

Jen’s health-first schedule

Jen experiences migraines that make mornings difficult. At Fusion, she begins her school day at 11:30 a.m. and is able to schedule important appointments to prioritize her well-being without falling behind.

Beyond the classroom

Building connections, community, and friendships

While your classroom time is 1-to-1, our campus has so many intentionally designed opportunities and spaces for students to connect, make friends, and enjoy school beyond academics. When they’re not in class, students spend time in our Homework Café and have access to a variety of clubs, activities, and events that enrich their social experience.

Student-led clubs and organizations

Our student clubs are led by students, with support from teachers, and they reflect the interests and passions of the school community. Clubs vary by campus but often include options like:

- Art Club

- Book Club

- Debate Club

- Gaming Club

- Robotics Club

- Student Government

- Photography Club

Fusion’s global community

Students also connect virtually with peers worldwide from all Fusion campuses. In our virtual spaces, students participate in shared activities, collaborative projects, and student-led events that foster a sense of community across the Fusion network.

If your student has a unique interest, they can even start a new club! Each Fusion campus tailors its offerings to its students, creating a unique and inclusive environment for everyone.

Campus events and social activities

Fusion’s social programming goes beyond the classroom, with campus events like field trips, prom, and spirit days that bring students together in meaningful ways. These events create a fun and engaging atmosphere where students can build friendships and celebrate school pride.

Our Homework Café: Where homework stays at school

There’s nothing worse than ending a busy day with a homework battle at night. But at Fusion, homework doesn’t have to come home. For every scheduled class session, students have equal time on their schedule in our Homework Café. Students complete assignments on campus, where they have immediate access to teachers for questions and support.

The Homework Café offers both quiet study spaces and social areas, so each student can focus in the way that suits them best. The result? Students finish their work while the information is still fresh in their minds, and families get their evenings back.

Once

tears of frustration.

Now tears of joy.

The world’s leader in personalized education since 1989

From our first campus in California to now serving 35 countries

What types of students thrive at Fusion?

A different way to learn for students who learn differently

Fusion Academy is designed for students who need a different educational approach to reach their full potential. In traditional classrooms, where a teacher must divide attention among 20-30 students, it’s easy for some students to get left behind—or feel unseen. Whether they need a more supportive environment, a flexible schedule, or a tailored approach to learning, Fusion’s 1-to-1 model empowers students who might struggle to thrive in a traditional school setting.

Fusion Academy is a great fit for students who:

- Need extra support for learning, social, or emotional differences, including ADHD, anxiety, and more

- Benefit from a more personalized and caring learning environment

- Learn at a different pace than their peers, needing either more time or accelerated learning options

- Require a flexible schedule to pursue other interests, manage health needs, or balance personal commitments

Daily progress updates, delivered to you

At Fusion, we believe parents should never be left in the dark about their child’s progress. That’s why we provide daily updates for every class. Each update recaps the day’s material and shares insights from the teacher—like your student’s mood, milestones, and any areas of focus. No more waiting for report cards or surprises at parent-teacher conferences—Fusion’s daily feedback keeps you connected to your student’s progress.

You’ll also have access to our Parent Portal. This one-stopshop to all things Fusion includes important announcements, upcoming assignments, your student’s weekly schedule, recently graded assignments, and more.
