FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Several leading experts will be at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on the 18th and 19th April 2015 for an International Forum to discuss a range of topics that are of concern to the world at large. Organised by the Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise War (KLRCW), it is part of the continuing campaign to spread the message that War Is A Crime. Specific topics have been included to highlight various aspects of conflict in a regional and global context. The keynote address for the first day, 18th April 2015, on the theme: Peace With Justice-­‐Constructing The Road Map, will be delivered by YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in his capacity as Founder of the KLFCW. The first day will then kick off with a presentation by Tan Sri Razali, the former President of the United Nations Security Council, whose topic is “Proxy War”. The Chief Prosecutor of the KL War Crimes Tribunal, Prof Gurdial Singh Nijar will talk on Torture and a former UN Assistant Secretary General, Dr Hans Von Sponeck discusses Regime Change and Accountability. The afternoon session of the first day kicks off with the highly respected Canadian lawyer, John Philpot providing his explanation of the False Flag. Retired Indian Naval Chief, Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat follows with his topic, Drones and Covert Wars. The final session is on the “Road Map Ahead”, by Prof Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi. On the night of the 18th April, a Royal Dinner will be held that will be graced by both DYMM Yang Di Pertuan Agong and DYMM Raja Permaisuri Agong. On the 19th April 2015, attention shifts to the theme: Engaging The Young To Criminalise War and Energise Peace. The welcoming address will be by the Founder of the Criminalise War Clubs (CWC) YABhg, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohad Ali. The keynote address is by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin. Foreign Minister Dato Seri Anifah Aman will then outline Malaysia’s programme at the UN Security Council, especially the plight of children in war torn countries. Appearing via video will be Kim Phuc, the young Vietnamese girl who was captured in a Pulitzer Prize-­‐winning photograph during the Vietnam War in 1972. She will be introduced by John Pilpot, the Canadian lawyer who will talk on the topic, From a Distance-­‐Child Victims of War-­‐Torn Vietnam. Three children, one each from the three pioneering Crimalise War Clubs (CWC) will make a presentation in prose or poetry their understanding of the horrors of war.


The afternoon session will see a presentation by Larissa Jane Cadd Detmold, who has served as the Amicus Curiae with the KL War Crimes Tribunal, on the topic, Child Soldiers of Burma. A subject of special interest to YABhg Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, is the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Discussing this subject will be Prof Yushiharu Kim, whose paper is entitled, Psychological Impact of War – Child Survivors of the Atomic Bombing. The final presentation will be by Dr Piermauro Catarinella, a UiTM Italian lecturer on the subject, Learn From the Past, Work for Future without Wars. The two day International Forum ends with a closing session hosted by Dato Freida Pilus, Founder/Mentor of the Cempaka Group of Schools. DR. YAACOB HUSSAIN MERICAN (Secretary General)
