Progress & Common Issues Progress Actively supporting 18 organisations - plenty of wider activity Bi-lateral agreements & RE:NEW framework most common route 10,000 tonnes tCO2 pa in procurement, 6,000 tCO2pa contracted Common issues & challenges Mandate & Skills - Broad variation Data - Data (& time) for stock analysis and selection for ECO works Funding - Establishing value of ECO funding and any gap funding Procurement Route – Policy, terms & conditions, value for money Time - Timescales for ECO starting to look tight for some Wider leverage - Not many cross-funded programmes
Lessons learned Stock selection is key for a fully subsidised programme Ratios for SWI:HTTC can be 3-10:1
Combine private sector works with social housing where possible Bi-Laterals agreements can benefit from some good questions Doing your own ECO claim can be time consuming Green Deal on its own doesn’t always work Larger scale / cross-funded /collaborative activity takes time and will Links with policies on fuel poverty can be important
Summary
There is plenty of activity - but could be much more The next 6 months are key for ECO funded works Support is available & opportune Experiences drawn from supporting 18 organisations Clear links to wider important objectives
Please make use of the RE:NEW Support Team! Discussion points How to raising awareness of timescales for ECO ? How do we create bigger, better projects ?
