Original Design Two levels with a rooftop, are simply what Casa Rondam actually consists of. Garraf, which is the village that incubates the house, is an Arabic word that means cliff. The original design suffered from making the pool abandoned from the rest of the house through lack of accessibility. However, the house has a distinctive natural spot as it overlooks the Garraf Nature Park. Being exposed to humidity and weathering factors affected the house negatively across the years, in addition, there was deficiency in needed repair and periodic maintenance. Nook Architects with their proposal had the potential to revive this distinctive house.

The designers renewed all facades, floors, walls, and terraces to be more appropriate for daily use in the 21st century. As they’ve been eager to renovate the house functionally, they needed to update it from an energy point of view. The designers remodeled the house to suit the owners’ preferences, where they’d installed HVAC systems and provided the house’s thermal and insulation needs.

QUEEN ANNE Materials Against Time
Designers use concrete, zinc siding, painted aluminum panel, and western red cedar as exterior materials. They are sustainable and durable materials that resist weathering factors and any other time element. They have a timeless character over time.
Being in Seattle, makes this house overlooks the Salish Sea that separates Washington state in the USA from British Columbia in Canada. The characteristic environment which is connected to that location, made the owner ask Chadbourne + Doss Architects to provide a design inspired by the forest, sea, and skies of the local neighborhood of Queen Anne Hill.

ATLANTIC FOREST!
The House Components Alphaville house is mainly composed of 4 stories, on an area of 310 m². It’s built on a steep hill with variable elevation, this helped the designers in Sidney Quintela Architecture + Urban Planning to develop the four-story building based on columns of different heights. The main structure of the house is made of steel. This element balanced the perfect combination of natural stones, glass, and wood. Each story has a specific function, where the middle story contains the bedrooms, the garage, and most of the bathrooms. while all other rooms and spaces are found in the lower story, including the kitchen, living room, and even the pool. The rooftop overlooks an astonishing natural view.
In the municipality of Salvador in northeast Brazil, which overlooks the Atlantic ocean, Alphaville house is located in a private area that is close to the protected Atlantic forest, this was the major source that inspired the architects with their design.

From nature to nature Materials used are borrowed from nature to construct a house neighboring nature. Natural stones and wooden floors are perfectly chosen to meet the house’s distinctive location. Even wooden sliding shutters at the spacious windows added a dynamic effect to the designed facades. These shutters represented a perfect protector against sun exposure, as well as, a natural purifier. All the natural elements that had been used resulted in a contemporary house that includes modesty and innovation to form an integrated unit with the surrounding landscape.
Excellent Usage of spaces The designers optimally used the spaces internally and externally, the structure as well helped them to do so. This created wider entrances and bigger windows, making the residents feel comfortable and relaxed. Even if there are friends who are invited to a party, they’ll get the feeling of coziness and space as well. The wide spaces are inspired as well by the urban sensation the forest sends. The Atlantic forest shows its positive effect in every spot of Alphaville house. Would you enjoy a forest view near your house? if not, what view would you choose instead?

Byron Bay, a coastal town in the southeast of Australia, is a popular holiday destination where one could spend much time peacefully alone. Wollumbin House is one of the best designs that represent the suburban house styles in this spot of Australia. Let’s say hi to a kangaroo on this tour!

A Quick Overview The project occupies a strategic location that views, from the west, caldera and Wollumbin Mountain, which the house is called after its name, concurrently, it faces from the nor th the Pacific Ocean. Wollumbin House is a layered building that mainly consists of three-level suspended concrete platforms.
Harley Graham Architects’ design balances the landscape and the architecture, forming an integrated perfect dialogue that any house requires. The design succeeded in framing magnificent scenes, in addition to providing moments of relaxing solitude in nature.
Used materials in exterior facades are robust that resist relentless salt-filled north shores. There are western facade systems, easy to operate and control, they protect the resident from the harsh afternoon sun, on the other hand, they permit wide views across the remote areas.

A Three-Level Programt The appropriate privacy is delivered on the upper-level floor using the fabric screens hidden in the soffit of the overhanging roof. The upper level provides perfect ventilation for the residents, keeping them always fresh and energetic.
The upper-level floor is where the pool is found, it connects the living spaces directly to the ground so the resident will be surrounded by rainforest and pure nature. The pool is located on the northeast side of the project.
The mid-level floor is supported on adjustable aluminum strut panels that can form a variety of angles. The external facades of the mid-level floor are treated to establish more privacy for sleeping spaces, these facades can be easily controlled for each bedroom solely, which gives them the advantage of having long views over the town.
The lower level is a transition point for the residents and guests, they park their vehicles in the garage, then they make their way up the staircase to reach the main entrance surrounded by plants and green areas.

The Porrriato Era, is an important period in Mexico, that no one can deny. Casa Maca is a residence that records this period through colors and architecture. Now, it ’s restored to let all the individuals recognize the pre-eminence of Mexican History.”

A place where the ancient and modern meets See the historic floors and walls in every room, and observe the distinctive backyard that represents a perfect space for having an afternoon nap, or just relaxing next to the pool, surrounded by trees and plants. On an area of 260 m², m² Workshop, Diseño y Construcción removed all the negative impacts that time had left on the surface of walls, stone masonry, and ceilings. To return things back to their original nature and authentic colors.
Main room ceilings are easily observed composed of steel beams that carry wooden straps, these ceilings carry lanterns to make the full historic experience. A room that has this type of ceiling now contains a TV and all electronic facilities. Pasta-color Tile Floors and stone textured walls intensify the Porfiriato mood. The designers removed a mezzanine floor to make the guests enjoy the maximum height of the room. This makes Casa Maca is described as modern with c o n t e m p o ra r y a n d h i s t o r ic t o u c h e s.
Original windows and doors were left as they are, as they have always been the lungs of any house through which its spirit could be found. A small covered terrace connects the house to the kitchen, which is considered a mid-century annex.
The designer used classical pieces of furniture to resemble the original ones, desks, chairs, every wooden piece that represent that era. Although
all light sources and lamps work with electricity, the guest will find candle holders at different spots.

The Pink color of Mexico The secret behind the pink color dominates most of the house facades, exteriors and even some of the inner rooms is resembling the distinctive Pink lakes of Las Coloradas, which means blush red in Spanish, located in Mexico. Another bedroom is located on the ground floor where it connects to a private garden, the central patio, and a covered terrace.
Would you like pink to be a dominant color in that case? Or it’d be better if the designers had used another important color from the Mexican culture? What other colors could be dominant with?

A Double Level Residence that has it all Constructing a private residence has always been the perfect way to enjoy luxury and safety. DC Residence design provided all the means of comfort for the inhabitants.
The structure is featured with its unique shape that makes every side overlooks the landscape through a panoramic view.
The Residence’s ground floor includes all the rooms for socialization, it encompasses living rooms, dining, sleeping, and even entertaining. The basement contains rooms for self-care like a gym, sauna, and a spa.
F: Poles Arquitetura has put its efforts into designing DC Residence to establish a modern design, on an area of 1036 m², that meets the needs of Sao Paolo’s countryside inhabitants who seek calmness and tranquility.
Having a Superb Landscape
A scene, that gathers light, water, and green color, is a fantasy that everybody is seeking. Here, the designers turned it true through a balance that has put everything in its ideal place. Parking, lights, pool, bushes, trees, palm trees, and even standalone chairs make the residents love being home and enjoy the needed privacy.
Due to the elevation difference, a steep ground connects between the residence and the street forming a suitable ramp for the vehicles, it seems to the observer from a distance that the house is flying in the air.

The landscape design includes hardscapes as slabs, natural stones, light distribution, and steps, every item adds to the green color a valuable supporting function. Landscape, besides its aesthetic purpose, adds value to the resident.
Here the lights align the house borders to make the observer see it as a floating spaceship that is about to land in the middle of the landscape, this gives the house a more contemporary theme. Could a contemporary house be constructed on any landscape? or should its landscape have certain elements?
DC Residence design has answered that question. 103 2022
IRRESISTIBLE nature is here!
How they maximized the area usage A 100 m² could be a challenge for any architect, Habif Architects optimally used it by creating much space in the middle area. Founding the steel columns at the borders of the building and at a separator, helped them to actualize their vision, which turned the interior design into an attractive masterpiece making the resident feel comfortable and relaxed. The house encompasses 3 sections; a living room, a storage room, and a bathroom. The living room contains the sitting, fireplace, and dining spaces. The outside yard contains a garden with a longitudinal pool, it’s a perfect spot to party, release stress or even meditate. E Pool House could be a perfect destination for a couple on their honeymoon.
Becoming a part of the nature The world is now looking for what makes it a greener place. Covering the house facade with green leaves and making every passage lined by bushes and trees externally. The designers also took this concept inside the house, every spot became more attractive by adding plants and small trees. The pool seems to be more like a spring than a traditional pool.
Istanbul, Turkey, is a place that combines the authenticity of t h e E a s t a n d t h e d ev e l o p m e n t of t h e We s t . E Pool House will definitely borrow the required spirit from its surrounding environment, and invites it, as well, inside the house.

The house respects sunlight movement, it allows sun rays to enter the house during different times of day, This encouraged the designers to reduce artificial light sources, making the sun the major source of light.
Would you like this kind of privacy? Privacy that nature restricts. Let’s move to another design that captures your sight.
In addition, the designers built on the natural concept by exposing materials in their natural form, like wood and concrete at the fireplace to be included in the interior design. Looking through the glass facade gives the viewer a spectacular perspective, enjoying the elevation difference to achieve a moment full of peace and silence when the sun rises or sets.

theTopography!
L2 Upper and Lower Levels The upper level is established on a concrete structure, it includes a spectacular terrace that embraces the view, besides a spacious living that encompasses a modern kitchen. The upper level has enough space for sleeping as well. The designers used every space perfectly, to enclose every detail the resident needs.
Privacy was a major priority that designers have put in front of their eyes. The L2 House has a front side and rear side, the front side sees the main entrance and the landscape, while the rear side has the bedrooms and the slightly elevated pool. The land topography helped them in establishing such privacy.
The cubic form of the house has made use of physical separators and spaces, the two separate blocks, where the bedrooms are found, formed a pace in between, which created a patio, a courtyard, that sees the sky or could be under a sunshade, used as a dining area. The lower level has, as well, two bedrooms and a garage. It’s directly accessible to the exterior yard and green areas.
The designers in Pereira Miguel Arquitectos followed the slope by putting their vision for the L2 House of COMPORTA, PORTUGAL. Any pedestrian will think it’s a ground-level house, but after having the proper tour, he’ll find the hidden level.

Nest Why Wood? There are several reasons for choosing wood as the dominant material, it sends a peaceful feeling of the countryside, as well as, it has a romantic side that makes the couple feel they’re a couple of birds enjoying living in their nest. The Wooden House is a solid wood structure, where all pillars and beams installed are made of this material. It’s a ground floor house that has everything at the same level.

How green the house is!
The Story Begins
An owner assigned Guz Architects to add some upgrades to his existing house, the designers started their work, but after a while, they found out that their progress was good enough to meet their requirements, therefore, they decided to start the whole matter from scratch. That was the beginning of Sky Pool House.
Establishing a greenery rear satisfied the owner as it added a touch of beauty to his house and the neighborhood as well, then came to the idea of layered gardens, where every level in the house includes trees, bushes, and plants. The green areas added to the house levels don’t only beautify the scene but also, make the house cooler through the transpiration process of plants when they excess water vapor into the air.
Firstly, the house is located on an elevated plot, in a strategic vital neighborhood in Singapore, where every piece of land is worth a lot and every green area is valuable, because of the sca rcity of t he land an d dominancy of water.

FLOATING Green House!
While walking in a dead-end street in Singapore, you’ll think you’re looking at a floating green building in the air, if you’re invited inside and pass the gates, you’ll feel that the building is floating at the water's surface, what’s this place and what’s its story?

Not an Ordinary Top Roof!
A House Visit When a visitor enters the residence, he will meet first a short driveway that transfers him to the garage through a downward ramp, after parking his car, he could take a few steps upwards towards the main house entrance, surrounded by grass and green plants from the two sides, this always leaves a good impression.
Being on an elevated plot helped the designers in manipulating a perfect scene at the top roof, so they followed the owner’s requests and established the swimming pool and the gym hall he wished. An acrylic window is installed at the base of the pool to allow light penetration and spread in the spaces below. The roof includes overhang sunshades to protect residents from the tropical sun, as well as, rain photovoltaic cells are provided to turn collected raindrops into energy.

Foliage
House
A distinctive green area full of foliage is the secret behind carrying that name, this means that we’re gonna illustrate a greeny house in the developing suburbs of Ahmedabad, India.
Main Considerations The area has many mature trees whether at its perimeter or inside the plot, however, they have different kinds, the trees at the perimeter are bam boo, c her r y blo sso m, an d ne em, wh ile th e on es i n t he middle are Sapodilla and mango trees. The fruity and greeny impressive touch encouraged VPA Architects to protect this nature on starting their distinctive design. Concrete blocks have always disrupted mother nature by removing soil, trees, and plants. Here, the designers worked on the project respecting every natural detail which added a spectacular value to their work.

Two Separate Blocks will do the job The owner asked VPA Architects in his brief to establish the kitchen and the dining room in a separate place in the FOLIAGE HOUSE, this guided the designers to deal with two separate blocks. The first block contains the kitchen, dining room, and the pooja worship place, while the second contains the rest of the house rooms and spaces, including 4 bedrooms, a living room, and a formal sitting room.
However, the designers linked a double-height living room to the other block through a double side passage that has a courtyard on one side and a verandah, extending into a landscaped garden, on the other. The total built-up area is nearly 7200 square feet, representing nearly ⅓ of the total area of the plot. The dining room resembles a glass cube that overlooks the superb landscape, it is connected to any space related to food and nutrients, like an outdoor kitchen, servant quarters, store area, and wash yard.
Bold Decisions At FOLIAGE HOUSE, the designers made brilliant c h o i c e s w h e n t h ey ’ v e u s e d cantilever slabs and differentiated heights and levels.
As well as, the way they managed the house colors and construction materials, they have exposed concrete along with brick red paint in two various color shades, which made the house appear clearly in the middle of its green areas.
