Say “Hello” to the Faces of CYSS
FROM THE COVER We celebrate militar y children because of the sacrifice and service made by them, as a military child. The 2016 Cover Art Contest had the theme of “My Military Life” so you may see life through their eyes! This year’s winner is 12 year old Anberlin, who illustrated in her art that no matter where they are as a family, America is always home and a place they are proud to serve! Once you’re a military child, you’re always a military child. Even now at 23 years old, I think back to the different games I used to play and all the great memories. I went through different phases in my young life: the nerdy phase, when I read tons of books and put together puzzles; the “tomboy” phase, when I played video games and basketball with my dad; and at some point, the “girly” phase, when I had tea parties with my mom, my Barbie dolls and My Little Pony figurines. My happiest memories however, were at my grandma’s house where we would play Solitaire and Monopoly all night. Take a moment and play some of the games on this page. It may take you on a trip down memory lane!
