Physics the rate of emission of radiation, visible or otherwise. Philosophical meaning of the light Light is present, light is being, and light is love. Light is a pathway to find love. Everything in the whole universe identifies with its opposition. Compresence of the silence is only through explosion, without the winter, summer will be meaningless and light is sensed only through the absolute darkness. Light is the treasure of presence when you can find yourself in the moment not the past or the future. The fact is that the past is a dream so is the future, therefore, we are all surrounded with the present and to find the moment is to find the light in your heart. Living in the moment brings the luminosity of the conciseness in to the life and it transfers itself to energy and creation so it inspires art, legend and science. 9
The nature of human is to communicate with his surroundings through his five senses: Sight (vision), hearing (audition), taste (gustation), smell (olfaction), and touch (somatosensation). Luminosity in architecture is the communication of the man with his environment by the sense of vision through the reflected light. Luminosity is expressed through space, form and material. Light will brighten the darkness and gives it an identity. In the other word, the darkness will revive through the light.
The Jewish museum in Berlin by Daniel Libeskind is a good example of influence of the natural light in architecture which can drag human through history with challenging the emotions. The use of rough, cold, raw concrete as the main material, the long empty corridors with only e few opening to get the natural light inside of the building and the void of artificial lightings express feelings of absence, emptiness, and invisibility – expressions of disappearance of the Jewish Culture. The entrance of natural light into the darkness of the space illustrates the darkness and also that even in the darkest moments of life where you feel like you will never escape, a small track of light restores hope. It was the act of using architecture through the paradoxical completion of luminosity and darkness as a means of narrative and emotion providing visitors with an experience of the effects of the Holocaust on both the Jewish culture and the city of Berlin.
The affection of the light in architecture is irrefutable. Luminosity is the nature of the existence and use of the natural light in architecture is more like the quiddity of the light. Zaha Hadid’s light study is more through artificial lighting in form and material. Even though she express the different feelings through the light but it feels like its missing the purity of the nature of the light itself.

Light is knowledg. the design is trying to approach the idea of light as the truth, however, truth cannot be discovered unless with knowledge. According to Buddaha, the design is trying to pas two big sources of light: moon and sun. At the end, a sky light will give the visitor a big wide vision of BarSmith libarary as a sign of knowledge and truth. The unlimited source of light is knowledge and it can be found deep inside the human‘s heart and brings the brightness of knowledge to the darkness of ignorance.

The idea of illusionary reflection was takan from a mirror maze. A design which reflects the feeling of confusion and illusion. The mirror maze as a light pavilian could be a different approach to the meaning of the light pavilain, however, the reflection of light through the mirrors creates a poetic dance of light, darkness and shadows. Lost in a mirrored labyrinth of ones own reflection, a sense of confusion and disorientation begins to swallow you up as you attempt to figure which direction you need to go. Es Devlin

The philosophical meaning of reflection The recognition of every particle in the universe comes with the 5 human senses. The early understanding of quality, quantity and measurement fixes things as being, in human consciousness. This is the immediate perception. The profound perception comes with the precise recognition and creates the moment of reflection. Reflection appears through contrast, as light appears through darkness, in the other word the one is made visible in the other’s existence and this unity of opposite reflects the real meaning of being. “The one is only reflected into itself as it is reflected into the other.”(Shorter Logic) Reflection is revealed in the form of contradiction. 19
Case study Reflection plays it’s rule through material and form. Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg by Herzog & de Meuron is a capture of the visionary glass culture. The glass is completely in contrast with the old historic brick warehouse below the new structure. Contrast in the materials utilise in the two buildings will reflects the difference of each individual and express the uniqueness of each compare to the other. The fresh contrast to the monotony, plane glass of international style, is a reflection of dynamism expressed through architecture. Architecture is not embodiment of immediate perception it is the embodiment of reflected meaning through contrast.
The dynamic composition of forms has reinforced the design with distinctive dynamic image which varies with every cloud and sunbeams. It is in contrast with the settlement of building as it makes the building flew and gives it a sense of dynamism. Architecture is a language, a language that can perform through reflection of light and changes of form and material.
In Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim museum, reflection comes along contrast with environment, history and the nature of the buildings (settlement). The unique, curvy, titanium structure of the museum is completely in contrast with the environment and it distinguishes the building with its surrounding. Guggenheim museum is counted as Deconstructivism style which is a huge contrast to Modernism as the main point in history of architecture. 20

The philosophical meaning of opacity Sometimes our thoughts is transparently clear. It is as if we were looking through a window whose clarity was an invitation for the world to come in the pleasure we take in thinking transparent thoughts is like that we take in the un impeded use of any ability; but such transparency is unique in that it suggests easy communication with oneself and others, the ability to nullify problems by seeing through them, and a clean, philosophically effortless mastery of life. By contrasting transparency with opacity and density, opacity is a condition in which things can not be made out clearly, and density that, much more often opaque than transparent, in which the process of ex planning must go on because it has shown itself to be inadequate. 29
Case study opacity plays it’s rule through material and form. Transparency is characterized by visual openness and direct transmission of light, opacity results from the complete blockage or reflection of light, translucency is demonstrated by materials that capture, manipulate, and disperse light. In simplest terms, the adjective translucent is defined as allowing light to pass through while diffusing is such that objects on the other side are not clearly discernible; it is derived from the Latin trans, meaning through, and lucre, to shine. The condition of translucency as it occurs in architecture may be thought of as existing at a point along a spectrum, the polar ends of which are transparency and opacity. Thus, transparency is rarely a fixed state and may be perceived as nearly transparent, nearly opaque, or an apparently equal blurring of the two, with such variations dependent upon the material itself (the degree of roughness of a glass surface, for instance) or ambient environmental conditions (the angle or intensity of sunlight, for example). The idea of translucency, when developed within windows, walls and roofs plays an important rule in expanding consept of architecture beyond the orthodoxy of modernism and has contributed significantly to current innovations in contemporary architectural design.
Through etching, the surface also acquired a matte finish and Light becomes complicated; through reflection it becomes diffuse. When used in a building envelop, regular clear glass tends to oscillate in perception between transparency and reflectivity; translucent glass, particulary when rendered with amatte surface, tends to oscillate between translucency( when a light source is present in the other side) and opacity.

Filteration Filtration is any of various mechanical, physical or biological operations that separate solids from fluids (liquids or gases) by adding a medium through which only the fluid can pass. The fluid that passes through is called the filtrate
The philosophical meaning of filtration Filtration can be translated as purification and in the philosophy, filtration can be identify through the purification of the mind Purification of mind as understood in the Buddha’s teaching:” all defiled states of human consciousness are born from ignorance, the most deeply embedded defilement, the ultimate purification of mind is to be accomplished through the instrumentality of wisdom, the knowledge and vision of things as they really are. Wisdom, however, does not arise through chance or random good intentions, but only in a purified mind. Thus in order for wisdom to come forth and accomplish the ultimate purification through the eradication of defilements, we first have to create a space for it by developing a provisional purification of mind — a purification which, though temporary and vulnerable, is still indispensable as a foundation for the emergence of all liberative insight.” 39
Case study • In Circa Morris-Nunn Walker’s Saffire Freycinet, a luxury complex in Tasmania, we see ambient lighting augment the refined interior design and enveloping architectural shell. Externally, light levels are kept to a minimum to preserve the natural darkness, with careful placement of lights to navigate pathways around the grounds. The entry axis is emphasized – connecting guests from the porte-cochere to the main view and descending stairway. Throughout this project there is nothing excessive in the number or position of lights. Care and restraint are apparent at every level and much of the lighting is intuitive rather than prescriptive. Apart from the entry, light levels are low so that the relationship of the building to its natural setting goes unhindered. There is no feature lighting, nor are architectural features highlighted – instead, there is a dappling of light of different intensities to create a hierarchy of spaces and to help guests navigate the resort.
TA more intuitive approach to lighting can create a more refined ambience. Lighting design is surpassing its supplementary role, and coming to play an important role in architectural expression – to paraphrase Le Corbusier, architecture is the play of form in light. My experience through the IES awards is that we are starting to see the potential of innovative lighting in architectural projects.
• lighting projects demonstrate collaboration between designers, an intelligent use of technology and an exploration of light and form. Reducing energy consumption is now more possible through different light sources and better systems of control.
