As we continue to do our best to handle the COVID-19 situation as it continues to impact our region, I want to reiterate that your safety is our priority, and we are working to ensure that you have the appropriate materials to safely do your job. As explained in yesterday’s COVID-19 update, we are working to acquire Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees on a global scale. Given the worldwide shortage of certain PPE, its use may be prioritized based on level of risk and availability, ensuring that employees who are at a high risk for exposure have the appropriate materials. Within our organization, we now have dozens of confirmed cases of COVID-19 and hundreds of employees in self-quarantine due to possible exposure. As such, I am urging everyone to do what they can to help us flatten the curve. Please continue to follow the guidelines laid out by healthcare officials, including staying home if you feel sick. If you are unwell, or have symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your healthcare professional and let your manager know.Your safety and health is important to us, so please don’t return to work until you are medically cleared to do so. We are providing weekly updates to Secure Solutions (USA) and I urge you to read these updates for the latest information on our response, you should be receiving them in your email as well as via text. Those updates include how we are responding to customers, educational resources for you and your families as many of us take on the role of parent and teacher and how we are responding as an organization. I am continually amazed at the response of our employees. I have heard numerous stories of our employees stepping up to help others in need and even making meals at home to deliver to our teams on post. These times of difficulty bring out the best in everyone, and I am proud of the actions our teams have taken to support one another. As we continue to navigate the crisis, please practice patience with one another as well. Thank you for all you have done. Please do what you can to ensure the safety of yourself and your loved ones and help us flatten the curve as we work through this together. G4S All Stars Trio Responds to Weather WASHINGTON, D.C. — The winter months bring with them cold and unpredictable weather, which means security teams to be need on high alert. The G4S team in the Capital Market did just that. Melissa Miller, Chadwick Scott and Shannon Dotson worked to be prepared for the weather and keep the facility safe. Melissa coordinated emergency preparations with the posts, communicating a plan of action and getting the necessary tools. Chadwick monitored weather alerts and confirmed emergency procedures with client personnel and remained aware of the client’s plan. Shannon checked-in at regular intervals with updates and readied the post to implement emergency procedures.

Chris Bouten Keeps Patient Calm TENNESSEE — As valuable as it is for security personnel to be able to keep the facility where they work secure, they also need to have exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with the people they interact with. At a client location in Tennessee, Chris Bouten did just that. An individual was brought on-site that became volatile, seeking help for a condition that they didn’t feel they were able to control themself. Soon after arriving, Chris began talking with them, providing a reassuring presence to keep the individual calm. Chris spoke quietly the individual so the staff could perform their duties. Through the conversation, the individual told Chris valuable information that on-site client staff needed, helping the person get the help that they needed. Additionally, his work helped ensure the safety of other individuals on-site. Chris Bouten

Duo Helps Couple in Need OREGON — G4S Security Personnel are trained to provide exceptional security. They are also trained to provide exceptional customer service and care. G4S Security Officers Michael MacFarlane and Thomas Thomas put that training to good use when a couple was in need of help. As the couple returned to their car after having spent the day at the local children’s hospital, they found their car dead and the jumpbox they had was not charged. Michael was the first to arrive and offered to charge the jumpbox, and shortly thereafter Thomas arrived to help them jump the car. The couple was immensely grateful, saying, “these two men went above and beyond to help us and I cannot express enough how much that means to me… These men are nothing short of angels.”
