A Message from the President Team,
recognized by them.
During the annual Global Security Exchange (GSX) conference in Chicago at the beginning of September, G4S was honored to be named the Outstanding Contract Security Company by The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs). The OSPAs recognize outstanding companies and individuals for their success and accomplishments in delivering security throughout the industry and it’s an honor to have been Additionally, David Serafine, the Director of Strategic Accounts on our Google account, one of our largest global clients, was recognized as the Outstanding Contract Security Director by the OSPAs. David has been integral in improving the security of our contract with Google, receiving multiple Perfect 10s, passing comprehensive internal audits done by Google’s security team and implementing the G4S diversity program which led to the promotion of multiple minority senior management members. The company is excited to have won the award, and is proud of David and his team, but these awards are a reflection of the hard work and dedication from every single G4S employee across the region. Everyday, G4S Security Personnel provide outstanding security to our clients. You are committed to standing post and ensuring the safety of our clients, their guests, and the facility itself, and without these efforts we would never have reached the heights that we have. While we recognize G4S employees every week for courageous efforts during Shout Outs, I am equally proud of the incredible work that takes place day in and day out. I am impressed by not only the heroic efforts of our team, but also the work of our employees who help train one another, who go days, weeks, months or even years without a security incident, and who go above and beyond for G4S and our clients. Please join me in congratulating David for this incredible honor, but also thank you and congratulations to everyone who makes G4S the company it is today.Your efforts are what make me so proud to be part of this company and what makes me excited for where we go from here. Thank you, Drew Levine President, G4S Secure Solutions (USA)

G4S All Stars Arkansas Team Provides Exceptional Security ARKANSAS — Part of providing exceptional security to our clients is about stopping potential security issues. To do this, teams and individuals must be on high alert and able to identify situations that could become dangerous. For the team in Arkansas protecting a court system, they are able to do just that. In 2018, the team screened more than 186,000 individuals, identifying close to 9,000 contraband items. In total, they confiscated more than 6,300 lighters, 1,000 knives, 900 needles and 222 containers of pepper spray. But that’s not all. They also prevented multiple guns, tasers, brass knuckles and even poisonous substances from entering the system, as well as ammunition, drugs, alcohol and other weapons from entering the system. On average, they discovered 35 items every day. Matt Stephens Prevents Assault BUFFALO — When situations begin to take a turn for the worst, G4S Security Officers are trained to help de-escalate them and protect everyone involved. When G4S CPO Matt Stephens was on duty, his training was put to the test. While conducting his patrol, CPO Stephens saw two individuals in the middle of a verbal argument. CPO Stephens, with the help of a client supervisor, were able to escort the individuals off the property and it appeared they were going to depart the site. One of the individuals had a different idea. The individual tried to get back on site and assault the client supervisor but was restrained by CPO Stephens who was able to hold the person until police arrived to arrest him. CPO Matt Stephens

G4S Safety Moments
September Safety Moments Preparing for Emergencies
As we enter the heart of the Atlantic Hurricane season, it’s important to remember that emergency situations are a part of life and often come at times when we least expect them. Whether it is a hurricane, earthquake, snowstorm, wildfire or any other emergency, it’s important to be prepared. While they can be physically, financially and emotionally draining for families, there are ways to make these situations bearable. Preparing for the worst allows families to be less reactive when emergencies arise. Create emergency kits for the family and pets. Form a communication plan, including phone numbers, meeting places and medical information. Ensure that you have enough food, water and a first kid for your family. One of the issues during emergencies is separation. You can assume that families will be together but it is possible that you may not be close by when an emergency happens. Because of this, a communication plan with details can reduce stress. A pre-planned meeting spot so everyone knows where to go can be helpful if you are unable to connect. If you have pets, it’s important to consider them in your planning. Ensure they have the right amount of food and that if they need medication, you have extra on-hand. Thinking about your pet’s needs ahead of time when you are making plans for you and your family can help ensure that they are safe in the event of an emergency. While preparing you and your family is important, it’s also valuable to have an out-of-town contact who can assist. Whether it is in helping you find transportation, evacuation plans, or any other things you may need assistance with, someone who is not in harm’s way can provide valuable assistance. Preparing for emergencies can seem like a daunting and overwhelming task, but there are tangible steps to take that will lessen stress later on. Along with the steps covered, it is important to keep in mind that decreasing stress and panic before finding yourself in an emergency situation is invaluable. To get additional safety information, contact your local office or send an email to safety@usa.g4s.com.
