A Message from the President Team, A few months ago I thanked all of you for your participation in the 2019 Employee Engagement Survey. We set a high water mark with 39,423 employees voicing their opinions about the company, telling us where you all thought we were excelling and where there is room for improvement. I am happy to see so many employees reaching out telling us your thoughts and I look forward to addressing the results of the survey. I am proud of the fact that our favorability rating is 81 percent positive, which is an improvement over the 2017 survey. I’m also very pleased that 96 percent of our employees understand the procedures they should follow for their job, as that question received our most favorable response. This reflects positively on our entire team, as understanding our post orders is the first step in providing exceptional security to our clients. Without the efforts of everyone involved, we would not be able to accomplish this. Thank you for all you are doing. One of the least favorable responses was to the “I believe communication in the company meets my needs” question. We are committed to ensuring that you all are aware of what is happening in the company and the expectations we have of you. As such, one of the positions that is being introduced in the G4S Way of Operations is the District Manager position. This role is responsible for managing relationships with our customers and our employees on every site within their area. District Managers will be on-site on a consistent basis, focusing on employee relations, retention, evaluation, engagement, coaching, mentoring and safety. This new position will provide you with an on-site resource to address the need for continually improving communication. I encourage every one of our security personnel on sites across the country to utilize our District Managers as the valuable resource that they are. If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to share any news with them, please don’t hesitate to do so. We are currently undergoing training with our District Managers from all four regions as they begin to step into their new roles. If you haven’t already, you should begin to see them on your site during the fourth quarter of 2019. Thank you, as always, for all that you do for our company. As 2019 nears its conclusion, we are continuing to work hard to remain the best security organization in the industry and the success of our security personnel on the front lines is paramount to that. Thank you, Drew Levine President, G4S Secure Solutions (USA)

G4S Safety Moments

October Safety Moments Fire Safety

October is Fire Prevention Month. Fires, whether ignited naturally in the wild or as a consequence of carelessness, pose a threat to our communities, families, coworkers, and environment. It is necessary that we continue to inform ourselves of the best prevention practices. In 2019, there have been 1,427 civilian home fire fatalities, as well as 36,000 wildfires that have burned more than 4.2 million acres. There are numerous causes of residential and non-residential fires, but cooking is the leading cause with 51.6% of residential fires and 30.4% of nonresidential fires resulting from cooking. The leading causes of cooking fires are unattended equipment, heat source too close to combustibles, failure to clean grease/oil, and unintentional turned on or off.

Cooking Fire Prevention • Be alert. Do not attempt to cook if you are under-slept or have consumed alcohol or medication that will make you drowsy • Stay in the kitchen while frying, boiling, grilling or broiling food • Regularly check on food that is simmering, baking or roasting. Use a timer to remind you to check on your food • Keep anything that may catch on fire (oven mitts, wooden utensils, food packaging, towels or curtains) away from the stovetop

Smoking • Only smoke outside • In the U.S., all cigarettes are required to be “fire-safe,” meaning they stop burning when left unattended. Cigars, however, are not, and require extra caution • Use deep and wide ashtrays and ensure they are placed on a sturdy surface

Electrical Hazards • Always hire licensed electricians to do electric work in your home; don’t attempt to do it yourself • Plug major appliances like refrigerators, washers, and dryers directly into wall outlets • Don’t overload outlets, especially with heat-producing appliances, such as microwaves and space-heaters

Heating Equipment • Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything flammable • Do not leave portable heaters on over night while you are asleep • Have your chimney professionally cleaned annually and always use a screen in front of your fireplace • Always plug heating equipment directly into an outlet

Responding to a Fire At home: • If the fire is small, use a fire extinguisher to prevent structural damage • If the fire is too big or you don’t own a fire extinguisher, leave the home • Yell “fire!” If other people are home and the fire alarm system is not working, you must alert them • Feel doors and knobs with your hands before opening them; if you detect strong heat, find another exit • Smoke rises; crouch low to the ground to avoid smoke inhalation • Call 911 once you are safely out of the home To get additional safety information, contact your local office or send an email to safety@usa.g4s.com.
