A Message from the President Team, While November marks the official beginning of the holiday season, at the beginning of the month we have an annual tradition of recognizing those who have served on Veterans Day. This year, we again recognized the veterans working for G4S at our Jupiter location and in South Florida, and I want to take this opportunity to thank them again for their service, but also to thank the thousands of veterans we have working for G4S across the region. With 23 percent of our workforce having served in the military, I know that we would not be the company that we are if it weren’t for these men and women and their families. Not only do they make up nearly a quarter of our workforce, but it is their attitude and work ethic that makes us succeed. We make a concerted effort to recruit, hire and retain veterans not only because of their exceptional abilities, but also because we appreciate the efforts that they have made for our country and our company. Thank you to all those who have served and to their families. And with Thanksgiving next week, I want to also thank all of our employees with G4S for your efforts this year and commitment to our company. We are incredibly proud of the work our team has done throughout 2019 and appreciate the work you have done in making this year a success. I hope that you all have the opportunity to spend time with family, friends and loved ones this holiday season, and to our team members who will be standing post on Thanksgiving and during the season, thank you so very much for your hard work and dedication. Sincerely,

Meet Your G4S Leader

Congratulations to Michael on the award, and thanks for your hard work!

Rick Herpel Helps Ease Concerns MARYLAND — In hospital settings, it’s important to not only provide exceptional security for the client and their visitors and employees, but to also create a welcoming environment. When G4S Security Officer Rick Herpel was on duty, he did just that. When a patient was admitted to the hospital, their parents, who were Persian and did not speak English, were waiting in the hospital. Using an interpreter app, Rick asked them if he could get them anything or if they needed anything. The parents instantly smiled and the mother teared up, giving Rick a hug. Rick was able to help the parents relax and feel welcomed by conveying that the team cares. The director of security services for the hospital said that “this is the exact type of customer service that makes the difference.” Great work, Rick! Rick Herpel

G4S Safety Moments

November Safety Moments Safe Driving

With the winter months upon us, the G4S Safety Team wants to take a moment to remind everyone about safe driving. Every day, thousands of G4S employees get behind the wheel of a vehicle, whether it be for patrols or driving to and from work. When behind the wheel, it’s important to be prepared and drive safely to prevent harm. The winter season means potentially driving in dangerous conditions for G4S employees across the region. To drive safely during inclement weather, it’s good to learn the best practices for driving in rainy, icy and snowy conditions. • If you can, stay home if roads are exceptionally bad • Accelerate and brake slowly to avoid skidding and avoid heavy braking • Increase your following distance to six-to-eight seconds • Turn on your headlights and use your windshield wipers to increase visibility While there are numerous causes of potential car accidents, one in every four accidents is a result of distracted driving and using a cell phone. Texting and driving is six times more likely to cause an accident than drunk-driving and in the five seconds it can take to respond to a text or look at your phone, a vehicle traveling 55 miles per hour has gone the length of a football field. Next time you’re behind the wheel, remember to put your phone away to ensure that you are attentive to your surroundings. To get additional safety information, contact your local office or send an email to safety@usa.g4s.com.
