MARTIN JARROLD MODERATOR CHIEF OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT, GVF Martin Jarrold has worked for GVF for more than 10 years, having been appointed GVF Chief of International Programme Development in June 2001. His particular responsibilities include outreach to the member organisations of the GVF and for the further development of the profile of the Forum within the satellite communications industry, and across the global telecommunications policy and regulatory community. This extends to the development and delivery of programmes focused on extending the understanding of, and promoting the use of, satellite-based communications in various key end-user vertical markets. Mr. Jarrold is Chairman of the GVF Oil & Gas Communications Conference Series, and of the GVF Broadband Maritime Conference Series, which combined have produced 17 confer-

ences in Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia, and South America (as of 1st July 2011). The Oil & Gas Communications Series is expanding into the Angola market in 2012. She began her professional career as a research and teaching assistant in the same department. In parallel, she served as a researcher in EUROCOST 231 Mobile Communication Project. In 1992, by invitation from Deutsche Bundespost Telecom, she participated in research activities in Darmstadt. She started her career in ASELSAN as a digital design engineer for communications systems in 1994 and later served as Lead Engineer, Technical Leader and Senior Design Leader. For space programs, she has worked as Technical Design Leader, System Engineer and Project Manager in 2005-2014. She was assigned as Director of Satellite Payload Programs in 2014, and she has been in charge of both technical and financial management of whole space projects of ASELSAN.

Dr. ÖZYILDIRIM has been taking part in telecommunication, earth observation (reconnaissance and surveillance) and early warning satellite projects especially on payload sides and satellite tradeoffs. She has also been interested in cost and time effective small satellites and relevant payload technologies. She is highly experienced in design, production and management for space programs. She has been involved with research program development efforts with both national and international technology partners. Dr. OZYILDIRIM has been taking active roles in European Commission Framework Programs (Horizon 2020, FP7, etc.) especially in Space Calls as a rapporteur, independent expert and project reviewer. She has also been participating in NATO panels as a technical and program member. Moreover, she served as an expert for research funding and workshops organized by national ministries and TÜBİTAK. HAKAN ÇELİK MODERATOR JOURNALIST, COLUMNIST, RADIO AND TELEVISION PRESENTER, CNN TURK Hakan Çelik was born in Beyoğlu, Istanbul on September 10, 1969. He was educated in Communications at Istanbul University. He completed Master’s degree programs on “Science fiction cinema” in the Faculty of Communications and on “Political structure of the European Union” in the Faculty of Political Science at his alma mater. He entered the media world in the newspaper Günaydın in 1988, and became one of the first private radio broadcasters in Turkey, after interning in the BBC at Glasgow in the 1990s. Later, he joined the staff to found Hür FM, a Hürriyet Radio, and produced shows for Show Radio. Hakan Çelik won a scholarship from the British Foreign Office and went to London in 1992, and he gave conferences in Germany, Japan and the U.S. upon invitations from

these governments. He travelled in more than 100 countries as a journalist and received awards from many institutions for his professional achievements. MARTIN JARROLD CHIEF OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT, GVF Martin Jarrold has worked for GVF for more than 10 years, having been appointed GVF Chief of International Programme Development in June 2001. His particular responsibilities include outreach to the member organisations of the GVF and for the further development of the profile of the Forum within the satellite communications industry, and across the global telecommunications policy and regulatory community. This extends to the development and delivery of programmes focused on extending the understanding of, and promoting the use of, satellite-based communications in various key end-user vertical markets. Mr. Jarrold is Chairman of the GVF Oil & Gas Communications Conference Series, and of the GVF Broadband Maritime Conference Series, which combined have produced 17 confer-
