ROCK FINISHES We recommend and use Australian standard AS2758.4-2000 rock and the size must be a minimum of 80mm and a maximum of 250mm. The rock we use must be dense, hard, durable and resistant to elements such as air and water. We generally use sandstone or bluestone in our walls. The photos below show the difference in finish between hand faced or tipped-in rock. Hand-faced uses a larger rock that is arranged by hand which creates a more flat, uniform surface. Tipped-in is when smaller rock is poured in by an excavator or by hand.
