MEET THE MAKER

Gabriel Scott was founded in Montreal, Canada in 2012. The contemporary lighting and furniture studio was established in an effort to blend Scott Richler’s design experience, developed over many years working in architecture, fashion and bespoke furniture.

When working as an architect, Scott was often tasked with specifying highend custom furniture for clients. He realized there was a market for bespoke, contemporary and customizable furniture and lighting fixtures crafted using a holistic approach that would be specifically aimed at designers and architects who need control over every detail of a building’s design.

The experience Scott earned from the time he spent designing jewelry informs a lot of his work and process when designing lighting fixtures. Jewelry allowed him to focus on details and the nobility of craftsmanship as well as exquisite materials. This process has influenced how he interprets decorative lighting and treats each piece as a creation of larger scale jewelry.

Scott works with a wider team of expert designers, engineers and manufacturers to design and handmake each piece in Gabriel Scott’s Montreal studio.

DESIGN STUDIO

All Gabriel Scott pieces are handmade in our Montreal production studio, where an in-house team of industrial designers, engineers and manufacturers create and oversee each piece from inception to production.

Gabriel Scott’s 30,000 square-foot studio is located in Montreal’s historically rich Garment District, a neighborhood that pioneered Canadian fashion and design.

Using the finest materials and quality craftsmanship, our lighting and furniture collections are made to order, making them easily customizable.

THE WELLES STEEL SERIES

A fixture of metallic proportion, Gabriel Scott’s signature Welles is a modern piece that showcases expert artistry. Hollowed metallic polygons branch out into a modular system of interconnected configurations for a stunning optical illusion. With its endless possibilities, the Welles floats in the air, emitting a cloud of soft light through its multifaceted, sculpturally innovative silhouette. The Welles is scaled to various shapes and sizes and can be assembled to horizontal, vertical, or diametric applications.

The Welles has been developed to be highly customizable. Allow our in-house design team to assist in creating the perfect silhouette to match your project’s needs. Available in black or white steel, satin brass, satin copper, or satin nickel.

THE WELLES GLASS SERIES

A fixture inspired by jewelry, the Welles Glass series is the brand’s signature piece reinterpreted. The blown-glass collection balances a geometric and multifaceted shape with a soft, frosted glass encased in satin metallic prongs. Sculpturally innovative, the Welles floats in the air, diffusing a soft light through its alabaster white or smoked gray prismatic glass.

An interconnected silhouette in horizontal, vertical, and diametric applications –available as a sconce or desk lamp – the Welles Glass is a delicate yet striking statement piece with infinite possibilities. Available in white or smoked glass, with black, brass, copper, or nickel hardware.

WELLES TEXTURED GLASS

The Welles chandelier is a true representation of Gabriel Scott’s design philosophy – to design and make modular products to custom specifications. A modern piece that showcases expert craftsmanship, a series of hollowed polygons branch out into a modular system of interconnected configurations.

The Welles Textured Glass finish distorts light and creates magical optical illusions when looking through the glass. Three textures (bubbled, ribbed or crackled) and three color options (bronze, clear or smoked) are available.

REIMAGINED

Welles Reimagined has been designed in collaboration with six global designers and architects to celebrate Gabriel Scott’s tenth anniversary in 2022. The established designers have reinterpreted the studio’s most iconic fixture, the Welles Chandelier. The six fixtures, first showcased at Milan Design Week 2022, have now been formalised into six capsule collections which include chandeliers, sconces and pendant lighting.

Inspired by jewelry, the Welles Chandelier is a true representation of the studio’s design philosophy - to design and make modular products to custom specifications. The Welles Reimagined capsule collections celebrates Gabriel Scott’s brand ethos and demonstrates how we work together with our designer clients to achieve something tailored to their requirements.

THE LUNA SERIES

A lighting system with infinite interpretations, the Luna is a synergy of color, shape, and refracted light. Inspired by a lunar halo, the modular light fixture grows in every direction as its assembly system stems horizontally or vertically, stacking color upon color of various blown-glass shapes. The Luna series is a glamorous reference to the moon’s diffused light and soft glow.

Available in a variety of colors and shapes, the Luna is a highly customizable fixture.

THE LUNA KALEIDO SERIES

The Luna Kaleido series is the second chapter in Gabriel Scott’s Luna lighting range. The customizable modular series includes two stackable glass lighting fixtures: a horizontal chandelier and a vertical pendant.

The mouth-blown glass beads can be ‘strung’ together in any order to create a bespoke glowing piece of jewelry. The lights are available in six new shapes, all named after constellations (Dorado, Lyra, Aras, Cygnus, Orion and Carina).

Like a kaleidoscope, the glass shapes have been designed to offer infinite interpretations of tone, shape and refracted light. When stacked, the lights become a glass mosaic with varying tones and patterns.

THE LUNA A SERIES

Luna A is the first release in the Gabriel Scott product class, dubbed ‘A Series’ by the studio. This introduction of eight lighting fixtures is based on the coveted design of the existing Luna by Gabriel Scott.

Inspired by a lunar halo, the elegant shapes of mouth-blown glass reference the moon’s diffused light and soft glow. This allusive play of light that is rendered through a coordinated stacking of forms blown by master artisans in various gradient colored glass.

THE MYRIAD SERIES

Evoking nature in its most elemental state, the Myriad blends sharp, articulated arms with soft, reflective light, for an overall arboreal feel. Lighting inspired by bioluminescence, this sculptural light fixture diffuses a warm light through its doubleblown glass pivoting at the tips of a modular, asymmetric system.

Expert craftsmanship met with clever engineering, the Myriad is available in various metal and glass finishes. Custom sizing available.

THE BRIOLETTE SERIES

A powerful, warm light diffused through double-blown glass, the Briolette showcases striking prismatic contours held by the brand’s signature metallic prongs. A dynamic interplay of sharp and delicate, the satin brass, nickel, copper, bronze or black steel hardware grips its jewel, drawing the eye to its unforgettable hand-sculpted shape. Double-blown glass is available in alabaster white or smoked gray.

THE HARLOW SERIES

A veritable showstopper, the Harlow series offers an elegant starburst of light that reflects and refracts through its mold-blown glass shade. A sparkling prism, the Harlow is directly inspired by the world of jewelry with its metallic frame encasing a translucent glass, adding a touch of glamor to any space.

The Harlow is available in chandelier, pendant, and wall sconce form. Custom sizing available.

CHANDELIER

A chandelier that moves with glamorous intrigue, the Kelly chandelier’s metallic chain cascades through its various layers to create a glistening, reflective effect. A bold synergy of cold metal with warm light, the black or brass frame hosts a matching chain that brightens any interior with midnight color. With its Art Deco sensibility, the Kelly chandelier is a transitional light fixture of exemplary proportion.

THE BARDOT SERIES

A simplified silhouette that seduces the eye, the Bardot offers a new perspective from every angle. By fusing a fine-profile black metal frame with contrasting hardware, the series showcases its infinite possibilities. The Bardot’s pebbled vegan leather sits atop long legs for a textured finish, highlighting another intricate element of its innovative design.

The Bardot is available in nude pink, slate gray, navy blue, or black leather, in combination with our standard metal hardware finishes.

THE DEAN SERIES

The Dean is a design with mid-century sensibilities. The coolness of a minimalist metallic structure softened by the rounded edges of its marble or glass top, the Dean features a versatile silhouette that breathes space into any room.

Showcasing industrial design met with elegant lines, the metallic bases are available in the brand’s signature metal finishes, topped with clear, smoked or bronzed glass tops.

THE PEDESTAL TABLES

Nesting together or free-standing, the Pedestal table is the perfect accent side piece for any space. The classic bistroinspired silhouette showcases fine attention to detail with Gabriel Scott’s signature contrasting hardware at the Pedestal base, offering full adjustability to its height.

The Pedestal table features a marble top with soft, rounded contours and is available in round, square, and hexagon shapes.

THE PRONG SERIES

The Prong collection evokes the image of fine jewelry, complete with a precious stone resting above its pedestal. Through its reinterpretation of a classic geometric aesthetic, the Prong offers a dynamic interplay of round contours intersecting with long, delicate legs. THE MARX STOOL

Blending components of the brand’s signature collections, the Marx stool brings together a geometric metal x-base with a lightweight, upholstered cushion top. A versatile piece, the Marx stool can be used in endless functions and contexts to add a touch of contemporary design to any style and space.

The base is available in our signature metal finishes; with the cushion available in heather gray or charcoal gray herringbone fabric. COM & COL options available.

THE BOUDOIR SERIES

A classic seating silhouette reinterpreted, Gabriel Scott plays with rounded metal lines and layering effects to create the Boudoir series. A pebbled vegan leather lining hosts a plush tone-on-tone fabric cushion sitting on top of the curved metal shell, fusing solid with soft. The Boudoir makes lounging an elegant experience by instilling depth and movement into each piece.

The Boudoir is available as a daybed, chaise longue, loveseat or chair with ottoman. Various metal and leather colors are available. COM & COL options available.
