JUSTIFICATION AND PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

1. JUSTIFICCATION Nowadays English is one of the most important language around the World, the importance of this foreign language have done that many people study the different way to communicate with others in all world. For that in the present module stand out the following contents, the four linguistic skills : listening , speaking , reading and writing. It’s important that the student know about these skills and be fully able of putting their knowledge into practice, with the foreign language because the English is considered one of the most useful languages around the world

UNIT ONE: GERUNDS, INFINITIVE AND RELATED STRUCTURES CONSEPTUAL CONTENTS

1. Functions and form of gerunds 1.1. functions of gerunds 1.2. forms of gerunds 1.3. gerunds follow prepositions

PROCEDURAL CONTENTS  Listening Identifying key words and Specific information about gerunds.  Recognizing when they use gerunds and infinitive forms.

2. Common Expression with ‘’To’’ 2.1. Expressions.

 Using polite expressions to make appointments. Or create dialogues.

3. Functions and form of infinitives 3.1. functions of infinitives 3.2. forms of infinitives

 Asking and talking about Experiences with personalities.

4. Verbs followed by Gerunds and Infinitives 4.1. Verbs followed by either gerunds or infinitive 4.2. Parallel structure with gerunds and infinitives

 Distinguish well the differences between gerund and infinitives.  Know in what circumstances they have to apply a gerund or an infinitive.  Being able to recognize the verbs and expressions followed by gerunds and infinitives.

ATTITUDINAL CONTENTS  The themes that come up include respect; stance; attitudes towards the work and the institution; concepts related to English learning ; affectivity, identity. UNIT TWO: Adjectives clauses. CONSEPTUAL CONTENTS 1. Replacement of subjects. 1.1 Questions Grammar to adjective clauses .Replacement of subjects with: that, witch or who. 2. Replacement of possessive. 2.1.clauses of possessive , selfassessment 3. Replacement of object. 3.1 that and which. 4. Replacement of location and time. 4.1 where , when.

PROCEDURAL CONTENTS  Use a pre Reading to involve in the topic  Explain adjective clauses grammar  Use a chart with that , which or who and make sentences to focus on the theme  Explains the differences of the words who, that, which and that, when they need to use each one.  Familiarize in the correct way with adjective clauses and relative pronouns  Identify the appropriate relative pronoun to replace in the clause  Be capable to compose a short writing using adjective clauses
