BICYCLE ANATOMY AND PART BY PART ANALYSIS AND MANUFACTURING PROCESSES CAR VS BICYCLE RESULT INFOGRAPHICS MELBOURNE USERS RESEARCH THE ELECTRIC BICYCLE
Part by part autopsy of a bicycle With the use of a highly realistic 3D model downloaded from GrabCad, I made an exploded view to sucessfully map all the parts. The bicycle was then rendered in Keyshot to get a better understanding of where the parts all fit into. I also got my hands on getting to know the materials for each of the 64 parts better
INFOGRAPHICS
Using a tool like Google trends, I got a closer understanding of public interest on types of bicycles over a period of time.

We can see that public interest largely depends on seasons. The curve highly increases during the summer and drops during the winter. Fixed gears bikes were almost unknown to the public in 2004 while it gained considerable interest in 2011. E-bikes gained interest throughout the years while mountain biking lost most of it searches on Google.
INFOGRAPHICS Using the research done on manufacturing processes on both bicycles and cars, I created a page of infographics describing the materials, manufacturing, time and co2 emissions of both.
With this infographics that I realised, we understand better that the manufacturing process of a car is a lot more complicated, costly and takes 20 times longer. The Co2 Emissions are also a lot more consequent in the making of a vehicle than in the fabrication of a bicycle. The curves in the background represent the number of each of the two are fabricated each years.
Melbourne seen by the cyclists The cyclist community is one of Melbourne most vibrant. No wonder why its population is increasing at a larger rate every year. The implementation of bicycle lanes and its politic in favor of cyclist makes the future of cycling increasingly popular.
Context Melbourne is a large city. Not only by its population but also by its really extended area. Most residential suburbs are located quite distantly from the central business district, the place where most suburbans work, play and like to meet up. But how do they get there ?
DIUS FROM C A R BD KM 5 2
Traffic congestions become a increasing problem in modern cities while public transport is not always the fastest and cheapest way to commute. Cycling face security problems and can be difficult because of the large distance between work and home. What is the solution ?
