HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE

Some fisheries in the guide may carry symbols, and the key for these is explained below. Facilities can vary greatly, so if you have a specific requirement always ring in advance. TM – All fisheries carrying this symbol are registered as a Troutmasters venue. Disabled facilities – If you are visiting a fishery for the first time it is advisable to check on the facilities before setting out. Refreshments – Some venues may provide free tea and coffee or facilities for making hot drinks, while others can provide meals of a corporate standard. Flies for sale – Many fisheries now carry a range of patterns, some of which will be specific to that particular venue. Tuition – This symbol shows that the fishery is able to provide some level of instruction. This may have to be booked in advance so always telephone first. Boats – Indicates that boat fishing is permitted. Stillwater Guide 2017

Catch and release – Signifies that the fishery allows catch and release, but always check rules as it may depend on time of year and particular water being fished. Tackle for sale – Some fisheries may have a fully stocked tackle shop on site, others may offer a much smaller selection such as leaders and accessories. STFA – Members of the Stillwater Trout Fisheries Association (www.troutfisheries.co.uk), representing premier trout venues in England and Wales. ASSF – Members of the Association of Scottish Stillwater Fisheries (www.assf.co.uk), which sets high standards and excellent value for money. Toilets – This symbol indicates that toilets facilities are available on site.
