Introduction

The content of this booklet reflects the summary of questions that emerge when relating the future of Tourism Industry, Sustainability, Development and Urban Renewal. The main research and project question is: To what extent tourism can be an approach to have sustainable cultural and economic development? How this can work for the specific context of Limbourg Region?

Of course in such approach is also containing the following derivative questions:

_How Cultural and Economic aspects of a place can support sustainable development? _Can tourism development become a regenerative driver for regional development? _Which aspects can help developing more local based strategy in order to avoid external dependencies? _How to have higher positive impact while promoting less changes on the environment?

Those were the guidelines we took to develop the project, from understanding what is the conditions of place, then the local expectations and visions and lastly propose a concept that could lead the Limbourg Region to a sustainable development.
