s coworking space Designed for collaboration and individual study, the space take different approach as abundant over exposed daylight are altered through curation of partitions to reach adequate lighting level for reading and discussion, providing sustainable solution for the space. The geometry of the partition also help to distribute the light when electric lighting is used at night. Arrangement of the partition allows for not only privacy but also fluid circulation throughout the space.

Geometry Optimization Galapagos simulations are done firstly to determine the best degree and angle that optimizes perecentage of daylight availability throughout the day. From the simulation we then explore different curvatures to give variety to the space.
Placement of Room Boundary The placement of walls and its orientation would affect the illuminance level of the space. 200-300 lux is the range of illuminance value that we are aiming to get, in order to create comfortable studying space. The image on the top indicate how angle below 500
would result in underlit indoor space. We also learnt that the we should keep to lower curvature to reduce overlit while at the same time allowing room for exploration on booths inside.
Design Iteration We explored different positioning of the booth to ensure maximum usable area for studies, keeping in mind the permeability and circulation of the space.

coliving hills In modern Singapore context, loneliness has become an emerging issue as suicidal rate increase. However this can be prevented through integration of communal living and dwelling. As a result, new model of housing is proposed whereby private living spaces are simplified, multiplied, and curated to create one holistic commmunity dwelling, on which people can extend their private spaces and at the same time merge and be a part of the community. Each of the individual community also interacts with each other through shared communal facilities throughout the site.

floating green Being located on top of City Square Mall, the design aim to create engaging and functional spaces through simple and straightforward designs that are energy efficient without excessive frills. It is a green-integrated urban playground that is also functional as an alternative recreational or training space. This design will benefit not just the local community as a shared space, but also create a platform for inspiration and learning to take place. Ideally, the implementation of this project will inspire the younger generations to be more curious and actively explore their environment while simultaneously providing the older generation with an interactive green recreational and educational space.

Urban Playground The playground provide playing space for the children while at the sametime shelter for the pavilion. The modules on side also allow for energy harvesting and vertical farming.
Planter Modules Modules act not only as safety barrier but also as greening effort towards the site, be it through instalment of solar panel or plantation of shading plants
Solar and Wind Analysis The picture above highlights how the area become well shaded after instalment of playground area, while the picture below show how our installation redirect the wind flow to ventilate the space better.

Tranquil Entrance View from private entrance towards bedrooms. The plants are planted to create romantic visual separation between the corridor and the bedroom.
Infinite Pond View from office on second storey. The extended view enrich the experience of urban greenery accompanying working activity.
Transition The condition surrounding the site, with busy ambiance on one site as opposed to the humble serene ambiance on the other, calls for a proposal that caters both condition. Hence, the concept is to transit the user of the space to experience gradual change from public-private, from loud-quiet, and from bright light- secluded controlled light. As a result, sets of frames are built to capture the different moments and at the same time act as an architectural device to provide the user transitionary space on which it resides in.

vision in transition The proposal is calling for a simple shelter
for a researcher living alone in the is-
land. The shelter should provide protection from the wild while at the same time still embrace the wilderness in a subtle way. As a result, timber cladding are used in different density in order to create hierarchy of privacy for the researcher while at the same time allowing natural ventilation and lighting.

Dear Jay In a country as conservative as Singapore, speaking about mental illness and grief may almost be taboo. Dear Jay, hope to speak up and encourage our society to move forward on these topics. As a set designer of the production, thread of strings are used to accompany the performance , with the idea of having string of thoughts could sometime strangle you yet help you reach your destination, Especially for those dealing with mental illness. The arrangement of strings allow for shadow play that mimics the feeling of constant anxiety that haunts obscurely.
