When farmers succeed we succeed. BBNL has a long tradition of partnership with Indian farmers for their prosperity. We support farmers in many ways. Farmers around the country use our innovative products to address on-farm challenges and reduce agriculture's overall impact on our environment. When farmers succeed, we succeed. So, we take our cue from our farmer customers. We use the tools of modern biology to support our commitment to agriculture and to support the farmers that feed, clothe and fuel our growing world.

Collaborations & MOUs We possess

Giving our country agro-economy a boost through technology

We're constantly looking at ways to maximize the potential of seed for farmers - both its yield potential and the technology used to protect it, so farmers can get more out of each seed. Today, farmers use our innovative seed-based products to help them protect their crops, produce healthier foods and better animal feeds for our world. Today, we produce leading seed brands in large-acre crops like rice, peas and maize, as well as small-acre crops like vegetables. As a company, we remain committed to broadly licensing our seed and trait technologies to other companies of neighbour countries. This approach ensures that farmers can access our products in the varieties that mean the most to their farm.

Seed production of OP and hybrid varieties is done under the supervision of qualified breeders, highly trained technical staff and experienced scientists. The seed is distributed to the farmers through government channels, cooperative institutions, private distributors throughout the country at economic cost and support with highest quality standards. Modern breeding and research techniques are essential in meeting market demands and anticipating consumer trends. At BBNL, our plant breeders, seed technologists, phytopathologists and experienced scientists work together towards improving yield, fruit quality and shelf life of specific crops. Our focus is on crop improvement, crop production and crop protection. The technologies developed through research will be passed on to the farmers through demonstrations and training.

Message from the Director A burgeoning world population has placed heavy stresses on the availability of major food crops and vegetables for human consumption. This has resulted into an urgent need to increase the production not only of food crops but also of feed, fibre, vegetables and miscellaneous crops. One of the major constraints in production enhancement is available land area for agriculture cultivation along with scare water and energy resources and resurgence of pests and diseases . although conventional open pollinated inbred / pure line varieties have contributed significantly to crop productivity and production in the seventies resulting into green revolution , but further quantum jump in yield potential could not take place and genetic ceiling in potential yield of crops is being experienced particularly rice, wheat and other cereal crops. Hybrid technology has successfully been exploited for quantum jump in yield potential of traditional cross fertilizing species, like maize, pearl millet, sorghum, sunflower, cotton, castor, vegetables and melons and recently in self-fertilizing crops like rice and mustard utilizing cytoplasmic male sterility system. Still availability of quality seeds of newly improved hybrids in these crops is not available at economical rates to farmers. The bhartiya beej nigam limited (BBNL) has been in forefront of crop research since it started its agro – business activities in 2005. It has strong R&D team to evolve high yielding and value added products employing conventional and molecular techniques of crop improvement . strong network of marketing across the country provide quality seed of crop products under strict quality control in field and laboratory by the production team at reasonable prices to the farmers. We have great pleasure in placing before you our revised and illustrated Product Catalogue. We hope this catalogue will assist you in choosing the varieties most suitable for your local conditions. We wish our customers a profitable growing season with our varieties and welcome all enquiries, comments, and also any assistance for additional information pertaining to our varieties.
