The Mitsubishi Electric Starmex R32 range of air-con units offers powerful cooling while using less energy and reducing your environment impact.

If you’re looking to replace the room air-con units in your home, consider the Mitsubishi Electric Starmex R32 series.

This series uses a new refrigerant called R32, which has a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 677. This is two-thirds less than its predecessor, the refrigerant R410A, which has a GWP of 2,088.

R32 is not new – it’s currently used in the blended R410A refrigerant, which is a mix of R32 and R125. As well as offering a low GWP, R32 is a single component refrigerant, meaning that it has a zero-ozone depleting potential and is easier to recycle. Being a higher efficiency refrigerant, the R32 system also uses approximately 20 per cent less refrigerant than its predecessor, thus helping to lower energy bills and reduce carbon emissions.

Why make the change now?

In March 2020, the National Environment Agency (NEA) introduced mitigation measures to reduce Singapore’s greenhouse gas emissions arising from the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in the refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) sector.

HFCs are commonly used as refrigerants in RAC equipment. When emitted into the environment, they are many times more potent than carbon dioxide in contributing to global warming. The mitigation measures introduced by NEA strive to reduce

Singapore’s consumption of HFCs. From October 2022, it will be restricting the supply of household air-conditioners that use refrigerants with a GWP above 750.

The Mitsubishi Electric Starmex R32 series is well-designed, sleek, and cools your rooms powerfully, quickly and efficiently. The air-con units are also easy to maintain, ensuring that the air circulating inside your home is always healthy and clean.
