Tasty, easy to cook tofu recipe
We asked Chef Ron for a recipe for a nutritious and healthy dish that anyone can cook for their family. Here is his braised homemade tofu with assorted mushrooms in fragrant garlic sauce

蒜子什菌扒豆腐 ). You may substitute with egg tofu, an ingredient that’s readily available at supermarkets.
Ingredients
• 1 packet of egg tofu, cut into smaller portions
• 1 clove garlic, sliced
• 1 piece ginger, sliced
• 2 shiitake mushrooms, washed and chopped
• 1/4 cup chopped carrot
• 2 stalks of bak choy
• 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
• 1 tablespoon soya sauce
• 1 3/4 cups water
• 1 pinch white pepper
• cornstarch slurry
Method
1 Place tofu circles in a heated non-stick pan. Pan-fry the tofu without oil to seal the outer layer. Once you see a thin crust form, add a drizzle of oil and continue to cook until golden brown on both sides.
2 Remove the tofu from the pan and set it aside.
3 Blanch the bak choy and carrots in hot water with a little salt and oil. Remove the bak choy after 1 minute, rinse them with cold water and set aside.
4 Sauté garlic and a piece of ginger in a wok until fragrant.
5 Add in the mushrooms and vegetables, and continue to cook until the mushrooms are fragrant. Drizzle in the soya sauce and water. Add cornstarch slurry to thicken. Finally, season with oyster sauce and white pepper.
