Core Science

Core Science provides with a range of topics relevant to the current year 10 curriculum that provides the prerequisite understanding required for VCE Biology, Psychology, Physics and Chemistry. In Chemistry, students will explore chemical reactions involving the rearrangement of atoms to form new substances. In Biology, students will investigate the transmission of heritable characteristics from one generation to the next and the theory of evolution by natural selection. In Physics, students will gather data to analyse motion produced by forces, for example, distance and time, velocity, mass, acceleration and force.

This subject prepares students for VCE Biology, Psychology, Chemistry and Physics.
