Justyna Pennards-Sycz Justyna Pennards-Sycz’s artistic work, which is ascribed to abstract art mainstream, is a result of colour and light seeking that is intended for creating artistic compositions with specific and persistent emotional charge. Her expressive and stylistic works (particularly the artist’s distinctive way of applying the paintbrush) are the results of her fascination with nature: the chaos and diversity of flora and fauna of the sea and the ambiguity and exoticism of Japan - highly dynamic paintings based on colour but not deprived of details.

Justyna Pennards-Sycz (born 2 April 1969) Painter and translator of Polish origin. Graduate in economics at the University of Münster as well as artistic studies (specialization: painting) at Fine Art Academy of Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht. Russian-German and Polish-German translator in 1992-1994. Project manager and internal communication specialist in multinational corporations: Praktiker (Saarbrücken, Warsaw), Creative NLP Akademie in Wiesbaden and AXA Investment Managers in Frankfurt on the Main. Married in 2004 and moved to the Netherlands. Justyna works and lives in Amersfoort. The large-scale abstract paintings by Justyna Pennards-Sycz are the result of a long quest of creating figurative and two-dimensional depth without resorting to traditional artistic means. The starting point in the artist’s work is the encountering world shown in unusual moments which deviate from the accurate state of affairs - Japan right after the tsunami or a forest photographed under the light reveal unreal and magic dimension of wellknown things constituting a unique source of inspiration. Some of the paitings are fully filled with multi-coloured splashes in diverse shapes, whereas other paintings are the artist’s experiments with paintbrush strokes and accent strength which surprises you with the diversity of marks applied to the canvas. Like the traditional painting that played the role of a window to the world, Justyna’s paintings can be seen as a window to the alternative reality – a subjective world deprived of scientific discipline.
