Children of Promise-Summer Resource List for Teens Mission: Our mission is to build resiliency and positive self-esteem among disadvantaged teens in the Pikes Peak Region by creating and enhancing opportunities for education, recreation and social engagement.

June : Sports Physicals Event: A community event to support our Middle School and High School Athletes. Sat. June 6: Sponsored by: Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group & Colorado Sport & Spine Centers Dist.11 is scheduled to arrive between 8a.m. - 10a.m./ Dist 20 is scheduled to arrive between 10a.m. - 12p.m. Get your sports physical now for summer, fall, winter ,and spring sports. Cost is $20 cash or check. This one time a year event is limited to middle school and high school students. No appointment times are scheduled; students will be seen as they arrive. One parent must accompany their minor child through the check point stations. Please download the Sports Physical Form and fill it out prior to coming. Please give your student's name, school district and what school attending, and a phone number. * Any students previously diagnosed with asthma, heart conditions or head injuries (past two years) MUST SEE their regular physician for their sports physical. No exceptions will be allowed. Scholarships available. July: Peak Vista Family Health Center in Fountain: July 11: Fountain Health Center; 301 East Iowa, Fountain 9:00-1:00pm. Free physicals and immunizations for children ages 3-18. Walk-in appointments only. Please call 211 or 719-329-7137 with questions. JULY: CARE Fair: Junior League of Colorado Springs’ at Peak Vista Community Heath Center @ 225 S Union Blvd in Colorado Springs. Sat. July 18th 8am-3pm, FREE back to school health fair for children ages 3-18 yrs old. Free school/sports physicals, immunizations, dental, vision, & hearing exams, nutrition and haircuts. Free school supplies for each child receiving at least three medical services. Community resource booths on site. Service area El Paso & Teller Counties; Call 719-632-3855 with questions. JULY: Solid Rock Family Life Center, Held at Panorama Middle School 2145 S. Chelton (Chelton & Jetwing) Sat. July 25th 8-4, Free school and sports physicals for children pre-school to college. Dental, vision screening. Free Immunizations for qualified children (MCD, no insurance, Am. Indian/Native Alaskan) Free school supplies while they last. Service area; South of Platte Ave, East of Nevada to Fountain Valley. August 1, 10am-2pm: Free school and sports physicals & IZ for eligible children 3-18; vision, hearing and dental screenings; children's haircuts.)Free school supplies as available. NCC service area: 80907, 80908, 80909, 80915, 80917-24, 80927, 80938.Adult screenings for Diabetes and Heart Disease: Free for the uninsured, low cost for all.
