PAUL BROWN : A 2020 VISION

In this new collection of paintings Paul Brown features his favourite subjects : beautiful buildings, light, and water. Brown is fascinated by the colours created by dawn and dusk. He has concentrated on studying the same subject at the same time on differernt days, and is fascinated by how the same view can look so different. This has led him to paint the sunrise and sunsets in both London and Venice. No.2. Sunrise, St. Paul’s from Waterloo Bridge, is a fine impression of a vibrant sunrise on a hot summer’s day in London; while No.26. Sunrise, San Giorgio, Venice, captures the striking Venetian morning light on a hot day in September. Brown is equally at home painting beach scenes and landscapes. He makes regular painting trips to the beaches of West Wittering, and aslo loves painting the big skies of Norfolk. One of his landscape paintings No.25. Clouds, East Head, West Wittering which was painted in beautiful monring light earlier this year. Paul also enjoys painting triptychs. With the strong winter light last year, he studied the rising sun from Blackfriars Bridge and produced the striking oil painting, No.15 . Dawn from Blackfriars Bridge, Triptych. For those considering purchasing one of Brown’s works, while the reproductions in this brochure are excellent, they can never truly capture the striking nature of the paintings themselves. A viewing is a must - whether on a visit to an exhibition or a personnal viewing in your home or office. Brown also regualarly works to commission, examples of which can be viewed on the website www.sanguine-fine-art.co.uk/ commissions/htm
