Ceramics Invitational SEP 1 - OCT 29,2016 Opening Reception: September 1ST & October 6, 6-8 pm

Gallery IMA is pleased to present Ceramics Invitational exhibition, displaying the diverse works of over 15 artists, local, national, and international. Luke Armitstead / Ruth Borgenicht / Koren Christofides / Sam Chung / Lisa Conway / Jacob Foran / Don Fritz / Carol Gouthro / Jason Huff / Gunyoung Kim / Jaewon Lee / Susan Margin / Paul Metivier / Mike Moran / Kyungsoon Park / Kathleen Skeels / Patti Warashina / Sheryl Zacharia Clay as a medium is one of the most versatile, tactile, yielding, metamorphic, not to mention ancient, materials an artist can be called to work with. There are as many processes for working with clay as there are artists working in it, but any great clay artist must balance personal aesthetic with a fine sense of craft and an understanding of the elements; earth, water, fire, mineral. In finished form, ceramic art can hang on a wall, hold its own as an object on a pedestal, function as a container, or measure up in a public space. With this exhibition, we aim to provide a varied selection of contemporary ceramics created by some of today’s working artists, both emerging and well-renowned.
