To address the COVID-19 disaster, The Community Pantry in Gallup and in Grants will be adjusting their distribution practices until further notice, in compliance with “Social Distancing” and other regulations that have come into play. We’ll be performing mobile distribution outside of the Pantries—clients need to wear their masks and stay in their vehicles. Food distribution house will be 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m only, Tuesday through Thursday. We will not be taking community service workers from out of state and no senior volunteers at this time due to that age group being the vulnerable population. We are also not accepting donated plastic bags and client updates at this time. This temporary change will allow us to continue serving our community members without exposing them or the staff to the threat of the COVID-19 virus. We welcome our volunteers. We ask that volunteers be 18 or older, in good health with no underlying conditions, and have shown no signs of any illness. If you suffer from allergies on

windy days, we ask that you stay home for your protection. If a person has been out of state in the past 14 days, has a cough or cold of any kind, or respiratory weaknesses, we ask them to not volunteer at this time. We will be closing public entrance into The Community Pantries until restrictions are lifted. The Community Pantries are actively implementing and supporting relief efforts related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). If you are healthy and able, please consider volunteering. Donations will be happily accepted, but at this time, we cannot except used plastic T-shirt type bags for sanitary purposes. Please know that your dollar will stretch further into the communities that we serve and you may donate through our website, www.thecommunitypantry.org using the PayPal system.Clients and community members may check our Facebook page for notices of food deliveries which may fall outside the above hours. You may find the “The Community Pantry” and “The Grants Pantry” on Facebook. You may also call 505-7268068 if you have any questions. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
