The First Week of August

The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning. The weeks that come before are only a climb from balmy spring, and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn, but the first week of August is motionless, and hot. It is curiously silent too with blank white dawns and glaring noons, and sunsets smeared with too much color.

I hope you are enjoying every bit of this summer season! As we know too well, eventually this summer will be a fond memory and we will begin to enjoy the seasons that follow.

It seems we are perhaps at the very height of the real estate market for 2021. Although there is still plenty of summer left and great real estate opportunities ahead, this fall, we will naturally see a change in activity.

Is there still opportunity to take advantage of the strong buyer demand in the market? Is it still possible to sell your home before fall? The answer is a resounding, “Yes!”

Home values have reached an all-time high in our market, and buyer demand is still very strong leading sellers to quick sales at the best possible price.

Out of town buyers are moving to our area as part of a change in their work environment. They now work from home and discover they can buy much more home in our market compared to the suburbs. I believe that this is the beginning of a demographic shift that could help support our market for several years to come.

Cordially,
