Big companies don't appreciate what hackers do. Apple probably knows the name of each hacker who jailbreaks iPads, iPhones and other iOS gadgets. Sometimes it takes jailbreak geniuses less than a day to launch a new version of their jailbreaking utility and help users from all over the world to perform iPad jailbreak on the just updated iOS. Comex is the pseudonym of a well-known iOS hacker. His real name was kept in secret for a long while. Only in the summer of 2011 we found out that his parents called him Nicholas Allegra. Comex is the master of hacks. He is top-ranked iPad jailbreak genius who is now... hired by Apple. Can you imagine this? Keep Your Enemies Closer Yes, if you are afraid of your enemies, keep them closer. This seems to be the new Apple's motto. Comex is a young man born in 1992. He occasionally thwarted the big army of Apple's engineers attempting to lock down millions of tablet computers and smartphones. With over $70 billion cash in the bank Apple could have hired anybody in the world. But the company chose Nicholas Allegra, the guy behind JailbreakMe "Star" and "Saffron", utilities that remove all the restrictions Apple sets on its devices allowing users to install third-party games and applications. iPad Jailbreak Is Legal Since 2010 it is legal to jailbreak iPads and iPhones in the USA under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. However such practice voids your warranty. Comex publishes his codes on a website letting anybody jailbreak their iOS device in a couple of minutes. If users wish to get unapproved applications outside the official App Store, they can jailbreak the iPad and download such apps for free. An Internship with Apple Comex announced his internship with Apple over his Twitter account. He said, "It's been really fun."

Why wouldn't it be fun? Allegra has been hacking iOS devices for fun, and he will continue helping Apple with the same thing - looking for errors. Only before Comex gave Apple headaches and now he will make Apple happy. He will notify of all holes he finds in the iOS software to allow Apple patching them before other hackers harness them and allows others to jailbreak their iPad and iPhone. Nicholas Allegra is not the first iOS hacker hired by Apple. The company also hired Peter Hajas, the creator of jailbreak application, earlier in 2011. And Facebook, on the other hand, hired another young iOS hacker George Hotz aka Geohot known for jailbreaking iPads, iPhones and Sony PlayStation 3 (he was sued by Sony for this).

There are a lot of other powerful iPad hackers out there, The Chronic Dev Team, The iPhone Dev Team and others. I wonder if Apple or any other company would ever hire them as well. What do you think?
