A BRIEF HISTORY Thank you for your interest in our flight school and now kindly permits us the opportunity to better introduce ourselves. One of the most professional flying training organizations in Canada, we have been able to offer our students even more. We have been training pilots from Canada, and from around the world, and our reputation for personalized service is second to none. Our school provides Transport Canada approved training to ICAO standards, in all categories. Our priority is always professional licensing, including Commercial Pilot License and Airline Transport License. Our recreational courses include the 25 hour Recreational Permit, the 45 hour Private License as well as all the Ratings, including Night, Multi-Engine, Instrument, Instructor, and Seaplane. Our training fleet consists of Cessna 152 single-engine aircraft, as well as four-place Cessna 172s for advanced cross-country work, and Multi-engine and two flight simulators. Many of our students fly to Florida, the Bahamas and other exotic locations as part of their training. Our flight operations are based at the St-Hubert Airport, located just 15 minutes from downtown Montreal. We are open from 8 AM to 11 pm every day of the week, so that you can enjoy your training on time. Our instructors with experience in the field from five to fifteen years, and they speak many languages including English, French, German, Spanish, and Arabic. Try our Introductory Flights, and see for yourself what flying is all about. Happy flying!

RECREATIONAL FLYING A Recreational Pilot Permit allows you to fly a single engine aircraft and to bring a passenger with you, in daylight hours. This is the quickest and least expensive way to get you flying. You can use the Recreational permit to fly for business or pleasure, on short flights or long, any day anywhere in the country. Your Recreational Pilot Permit experience helps you build time towards the Private Pilot License. Once you have your Private License, take your friends on a tour of the city at night for an exhilarating experience. The air is calm at night and the view is fantastic! The Night Rating increases your flexibility, letting you continue your flight after dark, so you need not be grounded when the sun goes down. The Multi-Engine Rating lets you fly aircraft with two or more engines, increasing the power at your command. The range and speed of multi-engine aircraft are higher than most singles, letting you fly longer trips in more comfort and less time. With an Instrument Rating (IFR), you can fly in almost any weather. You will be able to fly in or above the cloud layers and get to your destination, when skies are cloudy or clear. Combining the IFR with the Multi-Engine Rating gives you the maximum in flexibility.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FORMAL PROCEDURES Canadian Immigration laws require that any foreign citizen who wishes to study in Canada must obtain a Student Authorization (student visa) before entering Canada. To obtain this visa, you have to present the appropriate application to the Canadian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission nearest you. Immigration services will require the following documents: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7)

CAQ certificate that you can get from the Direction Régionale de la Montérégie A completed application for temporary entry to Canada (Student Authorization) including travel date. A processing fee of $ 200.00 CAD to submit the application form for the Student Authorization. A Letter of Acceptance from the school. Two (2) identification photographs. A letter from your bank, bank draft or letter from your source of funding confirming availability of funds required to cover tuition and living expenses including food, clothing, books, transportation, medical insurance, personal needs and return airfare.

Additional requirements may be set according to your country of origin and you may be required to submit a medical certificate or pass a medical exam with a Canadian Government approved doctor other than the medical exam required by Transport Canada.

LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE You must include a letter of acceptance from our school with your application for the Student. Authorization. HEALTH INSURANCE Medical, hospital and dental care in Canada can be expensive. As an international student, you are not covered under the Canadian or Quebec medical care system. We recommend that you obtain coverage prior to your departure for Canada. You can purchase medical coverage from the school. Immigration Canada requires that you provide proof of medical insurance upon your arrival in Canada.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION Candidates must undergo a medical examination given by a Transport Canada approved medical examiner. The Category I medical exam for the commercial license includes: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5)

A general examination. A urine test A summary eye test. An audiogram. An electrocardiogram.

Candidates may take this medical exam in their own country or in Canada. However, you must see a Transport Canada approved medical examiner. Candidates who undergo their medical exam abroad must anticipate delays of approximately 60 days before receiving their medical certificate. The examination in Canada is less expensive than abroad and delays for receiving the certificate are shorter. Please bear in mind that selecting to pass the medical in Canada does present a certain risk. The exam may reveal a medical problem that prevents you from obtaining the medical certificate resulting in needless travel and expense. To obtain your commercial license, you must pass a Category I medical exam. We recommend that you use the address for the Saint Hubert flying school for all Transport Canada correspondence regarding your licenses during your training.

ACCOMMODATIONS There are no accommodations on the airport site. However, you will find many options in the neighboring towns of St-Hubert and Longueuil. You will find accommodations within a five-minute drive. To help students, we have made arrangements with owners of apartment buildings in the area. You can rent fully furnished one or two bedroom apartments for $ 400.00 to $ 600.00 CAD per month. Everything is included except for the telephone and cable television service. The apartments usually consist of one or two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and living room. For shorter stays, you may find hotels or motels in downtown Montreal or close to the airport. Prices start at $ 40.00 CAD per night. Please advise us in advance and we will make the necessary arrangements to have accommodations waiting for you upon your arrival.

RECEPTION UPON ARRIVAL The Saint Hubert flying school representative will welcome you at the Montreal International Airport (Dorval or Mirabel). He will help you get settled with your accommodations, help you open bank accounts, get medical insurance, and any other special needs associated with your stay.
