It’s time to welcome the month of September when the cool air begins to arrive and the summer warmth fades away. September days give us the beauty of autumn leaves and the days get shorter as we transition into a new season. With the summer's farewell comes the cheerful introduction to autumn festivities at the Club.
Whether you’re celebrating the end of summer or looking for a fun way to gather with friends and family, join us at the Rec Pool on Monday, Sept 2nd between 11am and 5pm for our Labor Day Pool Party! Take advantage of some exciting activities and games along with a BBQ Buffet, available 12pm4pm, featuring all your summer favorites.

GENERAL COURSE MAINTENANCE TIPS
Please remember to fill your divots with the sand/seed provided on your golf carts. The golf course will show out much better as we move into winter and most importantly into the Spring. Please repair your ball marks and 1-2 others when on the putting surface. Leave it better than you found it. You will be amazed at how much better the greens will roll!

FALL GOLF COURSE AERIFICATION
Just a reminder that the golf course aerification will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd. This process will include aerification of greens, approaches, fairways, and rough. Greens will be aerified the first week of September and our maintenance team will finish the rest of the golf course throughout the rest of the month.

TIP OF THE MONTH: IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A PLAN
Whether it be tennis or pickleball the importance of setting up your point is paramount in executing it and winning the point. We always want to set ourselves up to succeed, however if we step on court without an action plan and or a plan B we will be held to the mercy of our opponents. My best advice is to think 1-3 shots ahead of your opponent, so it doesn’t complicate the processes of winning the point. First, know what location you are trying to place your serve or return. Second, see if there is a chance to move your opponent or play the next shot to exploit any weaknesses. Lastly, stick to your strengths and dictate the point with it. Throughout the game or set, take a moment mid-way to evaluate your opponent what they are doing well or not, and yourself to make any necessary adjustments if needed.

9/11 TOWER FITNESS CHALLENGE
This challenge is in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001. Since the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers consisted of 110 floors and 2071 steps, we encourage you to walk, climb or run to remember. Each time you complete 110 floors or 2071 steps, punch a space on your challenge card. Let’s see how many times we can complete this challenge in honor of the fallen.

Emma just moved here from Pennsylvania where she grew up and went to college. Fun fact: Emma had never been west of the east coast prior to her move here! She has played field hockey her entire life and is now a head coach for one out of only 16 high school field hockey teams in Colorado! Emma enjoys working out, being outside, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Lindsey Magnuson - Fitness Concierge
Lindsey is a college student at UCCS. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading and playing with her Goldendoodle, Penny. Fun Fact: Lindsey was born in Germany and lived there until she was four years old!
Jen Espinosa - Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer
Jen is passionate about helping members create & reach their fitness goals. She wants members to get stronger, improve their balance, and reduce aches & stiffness. She is very interested in functional & mobility movements. Her favorite sport is soccer as she has played & coached for many years. Jen’s favorite outdoor activities are hiking, mountain biking, running, & paddle boarding. In addition to her work in fitness, she is also on staff at Happy Cats Haven Rescue.
