Letter From James Gibson, President and CEO

Dear Members,

It seems that spring has finally arrived, and we can all look forward to more time outdoors with family and friends in May.

Our team continues to work hard to bring you more and new member events to enjoy. We will have our third Chef’s Dinner of the year on Friday May 13th , featuring local guest chef, Jay Gust and wines thoughtfully paired by Chris Nuzum from Walt & Hall Winery. The previous two culinary dinners this year have been well attended and this one is sure to be popular too, so please make your reservations early.

Mark your calendars also for special dining features for Cinco de Mayo and for Kentucky Derby day. Further details are written later within the newsletter.

We are in the final stages of construction of our new pickle ball and tennis courts and provided that the last construction tasks go as planned, we will be opening this new amenity for your enjoyment on the first weekend of June.

In addition, get ready for some wonderful activities centered around Mother’s Day. Children can prepare for Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 7th at Kids Club by crafting a Mother’s Day Card from their heart. There is nothing better than a handmade card and they’ll have fun with other craft activities that will be offered. Then, we’ll have our beautiful Mother’s Day brunch offerings. What better way to treat Mom than to leave the cooking to our culinary team and let her enjoy a special day. Don’t forget to explore our retail stores for gift ideas. Alternatively make an appointment or pick up a gift card for her to enjoy some pampering at our STRATA Spa and Salon.

Our Fall Festival last year, a new member offering, was such a success that we will be doing a Summer Festival at Kissing Camels Golf Driving Range on Saturday, May 28th . Beginning at 2PM, there will be activities for the whole family to include pony rides, a beer garden, live entertainment from Nacho Man band, a petting zoo, garden container planting and much more. Hopefully, the event will be well attended by members and will become an annual tradition.

The month will close with the opening of the Recreation Center Pool on Memorial Day with a Kid’s Club Ice Cream Social from 11AM to 2PM.
