Australia’s Crown Prince of Comedy, returns for another season of sauce and sass with his latest stand up show. You’ll know Joel from his sashaying down a red carpet wearing something extravagant with several champagnes under his belt or from his numerous television appearances; Eurovision, Mardi Gras, Take Me Out or Show Me the Movie. Perhaps you saw his global Netflix special or read his autobiography Thirsty? However, live on stage is where you get to meet the real Joel. The unfiltered and unscripted Joel who’ll regale you with tales from his life in and out of the spotlight. It will get messy ‘cos, like us all, he really is a Messy Bitch.

James Veitch Tentative

UK

The Box Comedy | PG | 60m 13 - 15 Mar | 5.30pm | $27 - $33.50

A new show, full of pranks, scams and emails. Responsible for the fastest ever TED Talk to reach ten million views, James delivers unashamedly nerdy and cheeky comedy. ‘Tears-down-the-face funny.’

Tim Ferguson is one of Australia’s most accomplished comedians. He has battled Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for 30 years, but it won’t get in his way! His live show, A Fast Life on Wheels, sees this comedy legend rip the lid off his extraordinary life. Tim Ferguson reveals the terrors and tears of his worldwide escapades. As for his lifelong battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Tim says, “I don’t ‘suffer’ MS. It suffers me.” Hilarious, touching and wicked.

Nazeem Hussain Presented by Live Nation

Eddie Ifft returns to The Garden for a strictly limited season of his brandnew hour of comedy. Eddie wants to live forever. The problem is he thinks he is going to die tomorrow. The internet for Eddie, like all of us, has become his best/worst enemy. Armed with solutions it has also made him aware of every possible disease, disorder and tragedy that could bestow upon him. Eddie Ifft returns this year with a show about his revelations on his own health and mortality.

High-flying circus collides with outrageous comedy, serious skill and a little whimsy in this brilliant new work from Berlin-native Remi Martin (LIMBO, Blanc de Blanc Encore). In a uniquely funny and moving journey, you’ll traverse childhood, adolescence and the daily grind and find yourself in a theatrical dream like no other.

Tumbling through life while juggling an existence where Australia’s First Nations culture, tradition, and lands are under threat. Chasing Smoke stomp, dance, flip and weave their message showcasing a people not defeated by adversity, but instead, who celebrate survival, modern-day Aboriginality and pride.

‘A comedy of the body, breathtaking and elaborate, gentle and excessive. Dazzling, funny and moving. See it!’

The world’s oldest living civilisation is the life force that empowers the stories within Chasing Smoke told through the lens of Australia’s only all First Nations circus ensemble.

Frank is often referred to as a *@#!KING CLOWN – he chooses to take this as a compliment that reflects his mastery of the ancient art of wrongness. Comedy is like one of those old-fashioned washing machines with the ringers on top. Frank loves to push any topic or tale into the ringers and squeeze as much laughter out as he can. Occasionally he pushes a little enthusiastically and gets his fingers mangled, but that can happen. A brand new comedy show from the master of daft.

Tom returns to the Adelaide Fringe with his best show yet. An electric and hilarious rant about his cancelled TV show, gay saunas, Baby Boomers and the neoliberal economic order that’s destroying everything around us. As seen on Tonightly with Tom Ballard.

1000 DOORS

SELL OUT HIT OF MELBOURNE FESTIVAL 2018 AND BRISBANE FESTIVAL 2019

Presented by Buxton Walker

By Christian Wagstaff and Keith Courtney

‘Perversely compelling.’ AFR A door is a beginning and an end, a promise and a warning. What waits on the other side is limited only by the imagination and decided only by an action. Step across the threshold of you. From the masterminds behind last year’s Garden hit, House of Mirrors, comes a new invitation to lose yourself and find something else in the process. Every entrance into this house of possibility will begin at the same door, but no two visitors will leave the same as they entered.

‘1000 Doors’ is like the cool kid at (the) party, and its long line-up easily reflects this popularity. A totally unique experience that will frighten some, intrigue others, and is sure to be an eye-opening night out for everyone.’ Theatrehaus, 2019

The creators of Children Are Stinky bring you an all new, action-packed, super exciting circus spectacular. Brass Monkeys celebrates kids who march to the beat of their own drum. Bursting with brilliant acrobatics, a ton of comedy, live music and high flying tricks, this show is perfect for little kids and grown ups who like a big brass belly laugh!

‘S Club 7 dialled up to eleven buffoonery that makes this show stand out from the crowd.’ ★★★★★ The Hook (NZ)

From the unstoppable Dummies Corp comes an all new extraordinary adventure! Lions and tigers and dummies, oh my! Set up camp and stampede into the jungle for an outlandish, circus filled extravaganza that will leave you chuckling like a monkey and roaring for more. They’re on an expedition and you’re invited along for the ride. Pack your bag, tie your shoes and get ready for circus-filled hilarity as the Dummies monkey around the jungle, swing through treetops and skip past foliage. With a rockin’ soundtrack, unbelievable acrobatics and trademark Dummies frivolity.

The Garden is passionate about promoting environmental awareness and we hope to raise our sustainable initiative goals each year.

DO THE RIGHT THING, USE THE RIGHT BIN There are bin hubs around The Garden. Put your waste in the right bin to help us divert waste from landfill. If you’re unsure, check the signs and ask our awesome staff - they’re there to help

FREE WATER REFILLS Free refill water stations are provided at the front gate and all bars. Please bring your own water bottle or use our reusable glassware and reduce your use of single-use products Free water refills and reusable water bottles are provided to all performers, rather than single-use plastic bottles.

COMPOSTABLE FOOD PACKAGING All food stalls at The Garden must use compostable packaging, supplied by the fabulous Salute. Please place all in the GREEN BINS. Additionally, in 2020 we’re partnering with Mister Rye to provide 100% natural, organic, biodegradable, compostable straws.

RE-USE We use reusable glassware at all bars, please return glasses to bars or trays at bin stations. We also encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottles. Grab a new outfit or accessory from Dulcie’s Bus. Over 6 years in The Garden Dulcie has stopped nearly 6,500 items going to landfill raising money to support the Hutt St Centre and Centacare along the way.

PRINT PROGRAM This paper has had its carbon dioxide and greenhouse emissions calculated; reduce where possible and ‘offset’ through credits that fund renewable emission free energy products. If you are finished with this print program then share it or pop it back for someone else to enjoy!
