MAXIMIZING INDEPENDENCE AND SAFETY SEPTEMBER 22, THURSDAY 2 PM, CHAPEL Join us for a fun, informative presentation by Adaptive Equipment Corner for National Fall Prevention Day. Christina Hardin-Weiss and Cindy Hardin-Weiss will be demonstrating adaptive equipment products and how to use them properly. This is a great way to invest in your safety and maximize independence at home! They will not be selling anything, just giving tips and reviewing products.
CONNECTIONS OCTOBER 4, 11, 18, 25 & NOV 1, 8, TUESDAYS, 3 PM, GARDEN TOWERS Well received this spring, a second CONNECTION series will be offered this fall for all interested in knowing others better and forming deeper friendships. Jointly led by residents, social workers and chaplains, the six-week experience involves meeting initially as a larger group, followed by sharing in a small group setting. Sign up at Resident Services by Friday, September 23.
MEMORY SCREENING OCTOBER 10, MONDAY Annual memory screenings are helpful for establishing a cognitive baseline for future comparisons. This screening is not used to diagnose anyone but is a way to gauge memory and language skills, and can be used as a tool for further discussion with your physician. The screening is free and confidential. Appointments are encouraged. Please contact Jenny Snyder (6259) to schedule a time.
