Who’s Who in The Cast

JANIECE DEVEAUX (Janiece) is making her Garden Theatre debut. She is currently a college sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing a B.F.A. degree in Musical Theatre with a Dance minor. She has been cast in numerous productions including: Scaramouch in Naxos (Ariadne), How to Catch Creation (Riley), Chicago (Velma), and Phantom of the Opera (Meg Giry). She thanks God and her family for their undying support and love. ANDREA DIAZ (Andrea) is making her debut at the Garden Theatre! She is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University and holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a musical theatre concentration. Previous credits include 9 to 5 (Maria), Beehive (Jasmine), A Chorus Line (Diana Morales), West Side Story (Anita), Grease (Cha-Cha), Sondheim on Sondheim, and Bright Star (Ens, u/s Alice/Mama Murphy). Andrea gives all the glory to God, and would like to thank her family and friends for their continuous love and support. ¡Los amo! www.officialandreadiaz.com @dreagabriela SARAH BETH GANEY (Sarah) is a Florida native who has spent the past several years bouncing around to work with some of Central Florida’s most wonderful theatres. Recently, Sarah finished her first production here at the Garden Theatre as Mona in A Class Act; it was incredibly rewarding and she is very thankful to be back in this space working with incredible people. During the day Sarah is a performer at Legoland Florida, a member of the percussion group, JunNk, and a member of the Opera Orlando 2021 company chorus. She has also been seen at Theatre Winter Haven in Footloose as Wendy Jo, Legally Blonde as Vivienne Kensington, and Nuncrackers as Sister Amnesia. Although the world has been partially shut down, she was able to perform in Pumpboys and Dinettes as Rhetta at Ocala Civic Theatre with another group of wonderful people. Sarah attended school at Drake University for vocal performance and was fortunate to be given the opportunity to play Alice Ryley in their production of Alice Ryley and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte while there. DA’ZARIA HARRIS (Da’Zaria) (formerly known as Danielle Harris) is a Florida-based actress. After graduating from American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC she has since performed in many productions. Some performances include Once on this Island at Theater West End, Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees at Universal Studios Orlando, Brightstar Touring theater’s Black History National Tour, Truvy Jones in St. Luke’s Theater production of Steel Magnolias, Julia Felix in Women of Pompeii production by Mad Cow Theater in partnership with the Orlando Museum of Art and Orlando Science Center’s exhibit “Pompeii: The Immortal City,” and her latest performance in the role of Ruth Younger in A Raisin In the Sun at the Garden Theatre. She is beyond grateful to be back on stage and excited to one again perform here at the Garden Theatre. continued on page 11

DARA JESSO (Dara) is thrilled to make her Garden Theatre debut in Godspell, gloriously combining her love of worship, and her love of the arts! While normally you can find Dara caring for our future generation as a preschool teacher, she never strays far from the theater, and was blessed to have performed in O Wondrous Night and It’s a Wonderful Night for the past two seasons. Dara is so grateful for this opportunity and for the continued love and support of her family and friends! RADAMÉS MEDINA MELÉNDEZ (Radamés) Radamés was born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He studied Audiovisual Communications and Acting in UPRRP, where he was part of the University of PR Traveling Theater. Some of his theatre credits include: Abre tus Ojos, Barrio Arriba, Barrio Abajo, Hand to God, Love’s Labour’s Lost, The Crucible, and The Little Prince, amongst others. He has worked in the tech team for Teatro CeDIn, Plan B Incorporado, Escena Latina, The Black Box Theatre Workshop, Instituto de Arte Escénico, Corporación Teatro Latino, Teatro Caribeño Inc, and Broadway Illusions. His more recents credits include Dylan on the TV show “LabSix”, and Diego on the virtual live experience “RECOMPOSED” last produced by Repertorio Español. EDDIE ORTEGA (Jesus) Ediberto Ortega is a born and bred Orlando native and FSU Alum. He received his Bachelors in Music Theatre in 2019. He is grateful to be a part of the Godspell family and overjoyed to be working at the Garden for the second time in less than a year. Some of his favorite past credits include Stevie (Ugly Lies the Bone) at the Garden Theatre, Usnavi (In the Heights) at Glow Lyric Theatre, and The Baker (Into the Woods) at McLeod Summer Playhouse. He cannot thank God, this amazing cast, and his dearest family and friends enough for their endless love and support. SHONDA L. THURMAN (John the Baptist / Judas) is happy to be back home at the Garden, last seen as Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello, Dolly!. It is another dream to tell another story that has to do with love. Shonda has been seen on stages at Walt Disney World, Universal and Orlando REP, as well as touring the country as Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol. She is grateful to the ancestors who have stood before her and whose shoulders she stands on now. Lynn Thigpin, Cicely Tyson, and Ruby Dee, I speak your names. I dedicate this and every performance to the memory of my mother, Sandra L Thurman, and my grandmother, Mazel Ramey, and the one who makes it all possible, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

ELIJAH VAZQUEZ (Elijah) Elijah Vazquez of Hammond, IN, Graduated with a B.F.A. in Theatre Performance, a Dance minor, and a focus in Advanced Playwriting at Niagara University. Some roles include, As You Like It (Orlando), The Drowsy Chaperone (Gangster #2) Chicago (Ensemble/ Dance Captain), Legally Blonde (Kyle, Grandmaster Chad), Little Shop of Horrors (Ensemble/Co-choreographer), Holiday Inn (Ensemble), Flashdance (CC), Mamma Mia! (Ensemble), Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical (Scary Big Kid/Rudolpho), Cats (Mr. Mistoffelees), Hello, Dolly! (Ensemble), and the National Tour of The Buddy Holly Story (Ritchie Valens). STEPHEN WHITE JR. (Stephen) is a newer resident to the Florida area. He is a 2020 graduate of Bethel University in Mishawaka, IN. where he majored in Musical Theatre. He is also the 2020 Musical Theatre Region 3 recipient for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Who’s Who in The Production Team JOSEPH C. WALSH (Director) is an award-winning theatre director and educator who is thrilled to be a member of the Garden Theatre team. Most recently he served as the Artistic Director of Arlington Children’s Theatre in Arlington, MA and Wild Oats Productions in the UK. He was the Interim Director of Education at the White Plains Performing Arts Center where he also directed Ghost (starring Natalie Weiss and Steven Grant Douglas) and West Side Story. Joseph directed critically-acclaimed productions of Hairspray and Singin’ in the Rain for the Cork Opera House in Ireland. In 2013 Joseph collaborated with West End star Linzi Hateley to devise and direct Linzi Hateley: True Colors - Life Since Carrie at Saint James Theatre in London and 54 Below in New York, as well as the London revival of Love Story: The Musical, which was nominated for an Off-West End Award for Best Musical. Joseph directed the Off-Broadway premiere of Sonder at The Player’s Theatre and in London’s West End he served as Assistant Director on Coyote on a Fence and Resident Director on When Harry Met Sally (starring Molly Ringwald and Michael Landes). Joseph spent three seasons as the Touring Director for White Horse Theatre, the world’s largest touring educational theatre company, where his work was seen across Europe and Japan.

Who’s Who in The Production Team CHRIS ENDSLEY (Music Director) is a 30+-year professional Music Director having served as Music Director/Accompanist for Garden Theatre, UCF Conservatory Theatre, Rollins College, Athens Theatre, Orlando Repertory Theatre, Daytona State College, Granbury Opera House (Texas), and Seaside Music Theatre. Chris has music directed some of the Garden’s biggest musicals, including Gypsy, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, La Cage aux Folles, Singin’ in the Rain, Hairspray, Bonnie & Clyde, and Violet. He is currently Organist/Director of Traditional Worship at North Lake Presbyterian Church, Lady Lake and Choral Director at University High School, Orange City. Chris holds a Bachelor of Music from Baylor University, a Master of Music from Florida State University and two additional years of graduate study in performance from Texas Christian University. Chris is a proud member of AFM Local 389. Much love to A.M.E.N.! JAMES TUUAO (Choreographer) is a Choreographer who has danced his way into TV, silver screens and theme parks across the country. Born and trained on the west coast, his experience with live entertainment began over 15 years ago at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Since then, he has shared the stage with a variety of artists including Meghan Trainor, Emma Bunton, Jennifer Hudson, and Paula Abdul in her recent appearance in Impractical Jokers: The Movie. Dance credits also include Walt Disney World Resort (Principle/Chorus), Universal Studios Orlando, Princess Cruise Lines, Latin Grammy Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards, Tournament of Roses Parade, and Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. His choreography credits include multiple ERAU Latitude Awards (EMBRY-RIDDLE Worldwide), Countdown to Midnight (Metropolis Productions), Predators AFL Dance Team, Booty-Swing (Eklectic Productions), The Little Mermaid (Tuacahn Amphitheater), and Flashdance (Garden Theatre). TRAMAINE BERRYHILL (Scenic Designer) is a Miami native with 15 years of creating live experiences. His recent design work has been in the live meetings and corporate events industry. “I am looking forward to being back in the Theatre. I like to think of scenery as building playhouses out of the ideas of playwrights, directors and designers. We create a three dimensional, functional space for us to play in. A space where as we play, artists further develop and analyze the relationships, economics, injustices, happiness and pains that we experience in our communities. As an active member in my community I want to have a direct effect on the advancement of our craft, because of its power in the community.” ALYX JACOBS (Lighting Designer) is an Orlando based lighting designer whose work encompasses theater, television, theme parks, corporate and live events. His work can be seen in many theaters across Florida including the Garden Theatre, Orlando Repertory Theatre, Orlando Shakes, Theater at St. Lukes, and many more. Recent Garden Theater credits include Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, Gypsy, and Annie. Alyx’s television credits include live broadcasts for ESPN, HBO, CBS Sports, PBS, BounceTV, USA Network, Univision, WWE Network, and Twitch TV, among others. His recent television credits include Top Rank Boxing on ESPN, Super Smash Bros. World Championship, The Overwatch World Cup, Heroes of the Storm Global Championships, and Solo Boxeo UniMäs. Alyx has been the lighting director for live music artists including Kings of Leon, Macklemore, Train, Lindsey Stirling, and others. His work can also be seen in newly opened attractions at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park and other themed experiences around Orlando. continued on page 17

Who’s Who in The Production Team ROSIBEL HERNANDEZ (Costume Designer) is very excited to be designing her first show at the Garden Theatre! She has many previous credits as wardrobe chief at the Garden, including A Class Act, Ugly Lies the Bone, and Hello, Dolly!. Occasionally, Rosibel works as a stitcher at the Orlando REP, and this summer she will be working as a stitcher at American Players Theatre in Wisconsin. Rosibel has a B.F.A. from the University of Central Florida with a focus in costume technology. ANTHONY NARCISO (Sound Designer) is a Sound Designer and Composer based out of Orlando, FL. Anthony routinely designs for Norwegian Cruise Lines, Theatre at St. Luke’s, and Auburn University. He is also the seasonal designer for both Garden Theatre and Orlando REP. Anthony previously served as sound designer for the Texas Shakespeare Festival from 2013-2018. Recent credits include Vote? and Pete the Cat at Orlando REP; Children of Eden and Mary Poppins at St. Luke’s; A Raisin in the Sun and Ugly Lies the Bone at Garden Theatre; and New Day Dawning at Auburn University. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Technology from UCF and is a proud member of United Scenic Artists. BEN LOWE (Associate Lighting Designer) Ben is a student at UCF in the BFA Theatre Design Program, focusing on lighting and video design with a minor in Digital Media and will graduate next spring. Most recently with the Garden Theatre, Ben was the Assistant Lighting Designer for Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical and the Lighting Designer for Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr. STEPHANIE ELLIOTT (Stage Manager) is extremely grateful to be back at the Garden Theatre for her third production! Previous credits include Hello, Dolly! (ASM; Garden Theatre), Pete the Cat (ASM; Orlando REP), A Christmas Carol (ASM; Garden Theatre), How I Became a Pirate (ASM; Orlando REP), Ghost the Musical (ASM; Theater West End), Florida Man (SM; Brown Dog Productions at Orlando Fringe 2019), The Polar Express Train Ride Orlando (SM; 2018), POP! ADRIAN GRIFFEY (Assistant Stage Manager) is a Florida native and Valencia College Alumni. Some of his past experiences include ASM over at Ocala Civic Theatre for their production of A Christmas Carol, and Production Assistant at Arkansas Repertory Theatre for their 2019-2020 season. This is his first show at Garden Theatre. DAVID CLENNEY (House Technician) has been a part of the Garden since La Cage aux Folles, and is working on his 33rd show with the company. As a native of Orlando he has thoroughly enjoyed participating in the growth of the theatre community in the area. David attended Seminole State and the University of Central Florida. He would like to thank his family, friends, and you for your support of the arts. JUSTIN HARMON (Carpenter) is excited to build another set for the Garden Theatre! Justin graduated from Valencia College’s Entertainment Design & Technology program in 2018. Justin is a freelancer around Orlando working many shows at multiple venues and music festivals. Who’s Who in The Production Team

AMBER TEICHER (Scenic Artist) has been a scenic artist in Orlando for the last 10 years. Her work can be seen at many theaters throughout Florida including the Orlando Repertory Theatre and Orlando Shakes, as well as Universal Studios and Disney. She recently painted a mural for Atlanta Aquarium and helped work on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This is her second show at the Garden and she is excited to be here. CHEYENNE DALTON (Audio Engineer) is an audio engineer based out of Orlando, Florida with a penchant for children’s theatre, rock musicals, and anything fast-paced. Throughout her decade of mixing, her favorite shows have been Assassins, A Year with Frog and Toad, Chicago, and The Full Monty. This is her fourth production with the Garden Theatre. REBECCA L JOHNSTON (Costume Crew / A2) Rebecca is excited to be joining the Garden Theatre. She currently works for Gaylord Palms Resort and Water Park as a Special Events Coordinator with the Entertainment Team. She has worked for Hershey Entertainment, Universal Orlando, and Walt Disney Entertainment. She recently joined the Orlando Independent Filmmakers group, and is working as a production assistant on some local short films. She is also a member of the Stage Managers’ Association. Rebecca is very grateful for this opportunity to work on Godspell. OLLIE WOODWARD (Spot Operator) is excited to be back for her fourth production at the Garden Theatre! She’d like to give special thanks to her family and friends for always encouraging her to follow her passion, and to the Garden for allowing her the opportunity to be part of such an amazing cast and crew! GAVIN SALISBURY (Spot Operator) Gavin Salisbury is grateful to return to the Garden for his second production this season. He previously ran spot op for Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. He first fell in love with all roles backstage while a member of West Orange High School’s Thespian Troupe 1983 working on Curtains. In his spare time he enjoys collecting vinyls, playing electric guitar, and Boy Scouts. JOSHUA ALBERT (Percussion) A native of Daytona Beach, Florida, Josh has been a part of the music community in Central Florida for over 20 years. Josh attended Stetson University in Deland under Dr. Marja Kerney and composition with Dr. Sydney Hodkinson and Manuel Demurga. Josh received his masters at UCF studying under the greats like Dr. Thad Anderson, Jeff Moore, and Kirk Gay. Percussion has always been a focus, however, Josh can also be found composing and playing jazz piano around Orlando. Josh has been invited around the world as a guest artist, including an invite in 2019 to Hong Kong, China. Josh holds the principal spot with the Space Coast Symphony, and, along with a private studio, Josh is also the Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Seminole State College in Sanford, Florida. In his spare time, Josh can be found Jet Skiing around Orlando and completing indie video game and documentary soundtracks.

GREG PAKSTIS (Guitar) Greg’s credits include 20 years at Walt Disney World (Kids of the Kingdom, Tarzan Rocks, Epcot), Sarasota Orchestra, Orlando Repertory Theatre, Paul Vesco and Vic Bird Orchestras. A commercial freelance player for over 35 years, he works solo and in ensemble for contractors and agents playing shows and backing up name acts. He was last seen at the Garden Theatre onstage in the production of Jesus Christ Superstar and is regarded for his feel and sense of time/ensemble.

AUTHOR BIOS JOHN-MICHAEL TEBELAK John-Michael Tebelak originally wrote Godspell as his Masters Thesis project at Carnegie-Mellon in 1971. Subsequently, he directed productions of Godspell at La MaMa Theatre, the Cherry Lane Theatre, the Promenade Theatre, and on Broadway. He received the 1971 Drama Desk award for Most Promising Director. In 1972, Mr. Tebelak directed the play, Elizabeth I on Broadway, and offBroadway staged The Glorious One in 1975 and Ka-Boom in 1980. He is also co-writer of the 1973 film of Godspell with David Greene. He was dramaturg for the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York and staged liturgical drama there, and the church’s theatre bears his name. JohnMichael Tebelak died April 2, 1985 of a heart attack in New York City. STEPHEN SCHWARTZ Stephen Schwartz wrote the music and lyrics for the current Broadway hit Wicked, and has also contributed music and/or lyrics to Godspell, Pippin, The Magic Show, The Baker’s Wife, Working (which he also adapted and directed), Rags, and Children of Eden. He collaborated with Leonard Bernstein on the English texts for Bernstein’s Mass and wrote the title song for the play and movie Butterflies Are Free. For children, he has written songs for two musicals, Captain Louie and My Son Pinocchio. He has also worked in film, collaborating with Alan Menken on the songs for Disney’s Enchanted as well as the animated features Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and writing the songs for the DreamWorks animated feature The Prince of Egypt. His first opera, Seance On A Wet Afternoon, was produced at Opera Santa Barbara and New York City Opera. A book about his career, “Defying Gravity,” has been released by Applause Books. Mr. Schwartz has been inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame . Awards include three Academy Awards, four Grammy Awards, and a tiny handful of tennis trophies. MTI Music Theatre International (MTI) is one of the world’s leading theatrical licensing agencies, granting theatres from around the world the rights to perform the greatest selection of musicals from Broadway and beyond. Founded in 1952 by composer Frank Loesser, and orchestrator Don Walker, MTI is a driving force in advancing musical theatre as a vibrant and engaging art form. MTI works directly with the composers, lyricists and book writers of these musicals to provide official scripts, musical materials and dynamic theatrical resources to over 70,000 professional, community and school theatres in the US and in over 60 countries worldwide. MTI is particularly dedicated to educational theatre, and has created special collections to meet the needs of various types of performers and audiences. MTI’s Broadway Junior™ shows are 30- and 60-minute musicals for performance by elementary and middle school-aged performers, while MTI’s School Editions are musicals annotated for performance by high school students. Rebecca Roper Proscenium Arch There is a physical space in the theatre that serves as a bridge between the audience and the actors. It is called a proscenium arch - a gateway and connector. The proscenium of the Garden is named in honor of our Founding Board President’s 18 years of volunteer service, leadership and a passion for the arts that changed a community.

For more information call 407-877-4736 ext. 208 or groupsales@gardentheatre.org. Due to the nature of live performance, events, performers, dates, and times are subject to change. Seating policy – All late seating will be at the discretion of the House Manager and cannot be guaranteed. Please arrive early. House Rules – Any photography, audio, or video recording of this performance is strictly prohibited. House management reserves the right to remove disruptive guests. No outside food or drink; no concessions will be offered at this performance. Accessibility – Kindly arrange any special needs, including wheelchair accessible seating, with the Box Office staff. House management will provide assisted listening devices and large print playbills upon request. Returns and Exchanges – There are no refunds on tickets to Garden Theatre events. All sales are final. There is a $5 exchange fee on ticket orders. Ticket exchanges must be made at least 24 hours prior to the performance. No credit will be given. Subscribers are exempt from this fee. Restrooms – Restrooms are located on the second floor via the grand staircase through the double doors near concessions. The lobby restroom is meant for those guests with difficulty accessing the second floor.
