IN 3
SOMETHING ROTTEN! Is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
The year is 1595. The setting is London. Queen Elizabeth is on the throne, the English Renaissance is in full swing, the Americas are being colonized, and a guy from Stratfordupon-Avon is the darling of the London Theatre. But not everyone is getting what they want - just ask the Bottom brothers, struggling to compete against The Bard. If they could only come up with something new - but what will the next big thing in the Theatre be?
Something Rotten! is a happy collision between the two most popular and successful theatrical genres of all time - the American Musical and the plays of William Shakespeare. Think of what happens when you drop a handful of Mentos into a bottle of Coke - that’s what happens onstage every night during Something Rotten! But behind all the fizzy zaniness and delicious absurdity, there is also a story about the power of family and being true to yourself, as well as a love letter to the theatre itself.
Something Rotten! is a reminder of the enduring value of Theatre, language, and of community. This production provides opportunities for an extraordinary and diverse group of performers, artists, and technicians, and adding value to the city of Winter Garden. I urge you to continue to make theatre-going a part of your lives and to support the Garden Theatre as it continues to grow and evolve.
Alan Bruun Director

Root Donors
Just as roots are vital to a garden’s growth, our Root Donors are vital to Garden Theatre’s prosperity. Donors who are acknowledged through permanent recognition on our donor tree have contributed $5,000 or above to the Garden Theatre Restoration Campaign between 2004 and January 15, 2015, OR have bestowed a one-time cash donation of at least $10,000. The gifts of these donors contribute to future developments and growth of the Garden Theatre for years to come.
