The importance of reducing our environmental impact is at the heart of every decision made at Southern Trident especially when it comes to Harmony Gardens, its new growing media brand.

Southern Trident is delighted to be a certified carbon neutral company. As the first in the sector to be PAS-2060 certified, it takes pride in leading the way for all businesses large and small to become carbon net zero. It measures top line carbon footprint levels from the creation of all its products and offsets the carbon dioxide produced. This includes the manufacturing of its peat-free growing media because it does not deplete natural peat reserves therefore protecting and conserving carbon-capturing landscapes.

The Harmony Gardens range of growing media, the world’s first carbon neutral growing media brand, was launched in 2021 to glowing acclaim at the Glee New Product Awards and won the 2021 Glee Sustainability Award for its Multipurpose Compost.

For 2023, Southern Trident is delighted to be bringing new additions in the Harmony Gardens range to the market. Alongside the existing Multipurpose Compost, Growbag, Top Soil, and Soil Improver, comes 100% natural Fruit & Vegetable Compost, Farmyard Manure, Chipped Bark, and the notoriously difficult to create, peat-free Ericaceous Compost. Because of its innovative formulation, Southern Trident is proud it was shortlisted for the 2022 Glee Growing Materials Award.

These new additions will make stand-out sellers for any stockists with bold, clean packaging that displays to customers they are fully peat free, carbon neutral, use Soil Association approved coir, and are part of the Responsible Sourcing Scheme for Growing Media. Alongside, customers can easily find instructions and recommendations for usage and volume. To further reduce environmental impact, each bag is made using at least 30% recycled plastic material and is 100% recyclable where local recycling facilities allow.
