Site Analysis The site (Partially closed Maan Industry) is part of the oldest Industrial area of Jaipur ,established in 1943, near Ram Mandir, Power house road Jaipur. Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan and known worldwide as the Pink City, has a unique presence of National and International tourist map. Currently accessed through Loco Colony. The site is proposed for redevelopment in Jaipur MDP 2025 as special area zone.

2 6

Built - Figure Ground

Transport Connectivity

Low to medium density built around the site. Major residential - depicted by fine grain.

The site is very well connected at both, local and national level, by metro, city roads, railways, airport, ST and NH.

Catchment Area- Urban Parks

Landmarks

Most of the orban level parks are located on the easter side of the city. Site being located next to the proposed green belt along the Amanishah revolute gives opportunity for a famous tourist spot.

MICE at the chosen site will stand out due to absence of similar projects or landmarks on western side of the city.

Existing transit, including railways, bus stops and metro station, are in close proximity to the site. The site is surrounded by numerous hotels (eg. ITC Rajputana, Raddisson) which will provide a lot of stay options for the visitors.

Movement Network

Neighborhood Vegetation

Presently, the access road to the site is 6 m wide, creating a chaotic junction with other roads. The proposed road under the Master Plan 2025 is 47m wide and so it will act as a better approach.

Need to design open green spaces, attracting more visitors as the existing green spaces are located far away.

Connectivity & Landmarks

Design Strategies

1.

2. Safe pedestrian and vehicular movement

Climatically comfortable pedestrian walkways

Pedestrian walkways and plaza naturally shaded by trees.

Separate vehicular and pedestrian entry with prioritized pedestrian movement throughout the site.

3.

4. Public Interaction

Design along the contours to maintain visual connection with the riverfront development.

Maximise the river view

Connecting different blocks through public plazas to support recreational activities and interactions.

2 7

The Site Located at near Loco, Hasanpura, the site is on contours , slope decreasing gently towards the Dravyawati river. The site area is about 11 hectares and the site area of chosen demonstration area for convention centre is 2 hectares.

Final Design

tree canopied plaza connecting exhibition halls and convention centre while promoting public interaction

The Convention Centre will be surrounded by exhibition halls and hotel, on one side whereas the proposed Dravyawati river developement on the other side. Having the tree canopied plaza with a water feature in the centre, another sunken plaza underneath partially shaded by the bridge and building blocks; restaurant and open cafe overlooking the river... The design stayed around the public interaction spaces, taking advantage of existing contours for establishing views throughout the site.
