Christmas Origin - The Messiah's Birth Foretold

Zoë Times

The Christmas origin begins with the predictions of Christ over the many centuries before His birth. ). Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. (literally, "God-with-us" in Hebrew) (Isaiah 7:14). For unto us a child is born, unto to us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6 ). The Son of God, Jesus Christ, humbled Himself and came to the world as a little baby born in a manger. When He stooped to our level by becoming a man, Jesus was tempted in every way, just as we are. As such, Jesus can sympathize with our weakness as humans. Jesus came to earth in human form so that He could die a physical death and take away our sins. When He established His deity by rising from the grave, He made it possible for us to have forgiveness from sin and a renewed relationship with God. He made it possible for us to relate to Him and for God to relate to us through Him. Jesus is the key to membership in God's family. He was undoubtedly an historic figure, and His purpose was simply to fulfill the meaning of His name, "The Lord Saves.". He was also called a great man, a great teacher and a great prophet. He did remarkable wonders and acts of charity, The Christmas origin, at its meaningful heart, began about 2,000 years ago in a manger in Bethlehem. The Christmas story is simple -- Jesus wishes to be born within your heart today! As we hustle about the shopping malls this Christmas season looking for that perfect gift, let's all reflect on the greatest Christmas gift of all. Open your heart to the Messiah who was born in a manger in humility, died on a cross in love, and rose from the grave in glory. Accept the gift of Jesus Christ this Christmas - the most glorious gift in all history!

From the Director’s Desk Dear All, The year is about to end and I am sending New Year and Christmas greetings to all of you. This is a celebrating season and the Lord has been so good to us through out the year. And I believe he has been good to you too. I want you and your family to join me in thanking God for his wonderful blessings upon us as individual and as a family. Christmas is the time of giving and sharing. It is the time of loving and forgiving and to feel the Joy and Happiness of loving & to be loved. As I look back, so very much has happened since January, the entire year was full of challenges, success. Failures, disappointments and achievements. As an organization we achieved our targets to reach out to the people to help them with what we can, through different programs like distributing cloths, conducting free medical camps and conducting AIDS awareness program among the Sex workers of G. B. Road. I would like to thank all the friends, associates and partners of Zoë Mission, your support during the year 2009 helped us on the journey to fulfill our Mission of reaching the” Lost and the left behind”. We thank you all for your support and endorsement of our efforts and we pledge to work even more focused so that we can reach and help for whom we came together. We wish you a very happy holiday season and an incoming year filled with Peace, Joy and Prosperity. When ears won't hear I went downtown shopping for designer sheets when someone whispered, “I have no bed.” I stood at an appliance store comparing prices of microwave ovens when an Ethiopian woman wept, “I have no food.” I hired a decorator to remodel my kitchen and to add more cupboards when a Cambodian child sobbed, “I have no cup.” I dreamed of building a getaway place, a cabin in the woods, a country place. Across the water came the cry, “I have no country.” I bought a new widescreen TV for a loved one's pleasure when a war orphan murmured, “I have no loved ones.” May God forgive us when our ears won't hear and our eyes won't see the sounds and sights of suffering around us. Amen.

Mission

- The team of Zoë mission have visited the slums

of Gurgaon in sec-9 and conducted a health camp with the help of India Operation Blessing team. We have not only organized a heath checkup camp but also distributed free medicines where we have attended more than 100 patients; it was sad but true that most of them were suffering from Tuberculosis (T.B) and skin diseases. Also Zoë team made them aware of importance of keeping a good hygiene by conducting an awareness session.

Project Zoë Care: - Under Project Zoë Care we have distributed cloths to more than 200 people in different parts of India that includes Delhi , NCR and few villages of Madhay pradesh . Some of the visited areas were Shkurpur

basti (one of the biggest slum of Delhi) and Village Gausra (Sagar Dist ) where we have distributed cloths to all the poor and needy people.

Project Prayaas: - Under this project we have visited a very small village gausra in M. P. which is almost 5 km from the main road and one cannot even think that people are living in such a remote area. We have conducted a Drawing competition among the kids of different age groups to check their learning abilities however we were disappointed to see the huge gap of learning competencies between these Village and urban Kids, therefore we have started a Sunday School for these kids, wherein they will be given moral teachings and also we will motivate them to learn new things. The objective behind is to make them self-reliant so that they can be equipped good enough with self confidance to survive, compete and stand among the kids going to the urban schools. Also we have planned to provide the school fees and school kits to the kids who can not afford it.

Project Rihaai: - This is our first step towards project Rihaai, we visited the G. B. Road which is a infamous for its red light area in New Delhi. G. B. Road has 20 buildings where Dark corridors with steep stone stairs lead to kothas (96 in all) on the first and second floors. There are almost 4,500 sex st workers who live and work at G. B. Road. On the worlds Aids day that is on 1 Dec' Project Red Light has been introduced which is a sub project under project Rihaai . Zoë Team with it's Project Lead Ms .Gargi Sagar have visited the red light area to distribute the pamphlets that includes all the information about AIDS so that they will be made aware of protecting them against this disease also jjWe would like to give our special thanks to Police Commissioner of Dariyaganj Mr Jaspreet Singh and Police Station Kamala Market SHO Ms. Kaur , Head Constable Mr. Vijender Singh for extending their help during the survey and on the Aids day which helped us in achieving the target of making people aware of AIDS .

Story Time : “Wait for the Brick” A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and drove the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car, shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?" The young boy was apologetic. "Please mister ... please, I'm sorry... I didn't know what else to do," he pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..." With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up." Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me." Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out his fancy handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. "Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the little boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention! God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice: Listen to the whisper ... or wait for the brick!
