THE CRAFT INTERNSHIP
Project Brief:-
This project was an opportunity to visit and work with a craft cluster in Rajasthan, that practises different techniques that is.., Embroidery, Reverse applique and Gudri. During this project we were divided in groups and were given these techniques to explore. During this time period we processed, analysed, documented their daily lifestyle, i.e.., surroundings, houses, people, temples and so on. The main idea was to take inspiration which helps us to develop motives that can be used in the detailing of the garment. The technique I explored was “EMBROIDERY”. We did some background research- what kinds of embroidery are being practiced their and also got an opportunity to learn the stitches and techniques, from the ladies of the village “ DEDUSAR”. Also, we got samples made from their and tried our hand in embroidery.
